I have the game recording now on DVR so I don't know what the score is yet. We lost our co-Ace pitcher Adam Wainright to Tommy John surgery right after Spring training and slugger Matt Holiday to an appendectomy. Sad so we are off to a rare, bad start this year.

Edit: LOL, I have something else recording. Game time isn't until 3:30 central. Embarassed

“ Major League Baseball recently notified Manny Ramirez of an issue under Major League Baseball’s Joint Drug Prevention and Treatment Program. Rather than continue with the process under the Program, Ramirez has informed MLB that he is retiring as an active player. If Ramirez seeks reinstatement in the future, the process under the Drug Program will be completed. MLB will not have any further comment on this matter.

Manny is a drinker. He has millions but money does not buy happiness if you have no self control.

It wasn't booze, it was a "performance enhancing drug". I wonder if he will have to undergo the same kind of "measurement" test that Bonds has to?

Boston hates the guy, all he did was badmouth them when he played here.

I think that will happen to most of major league baseball players' "privates" eventually. affraid

My beloved Redbirds suck right now. We are 2-5. Sad Worst record since 1980.

Hopefully big bat Matt Holiday will be back in the line up soon. He was off to a great start before his appendectomy.

Don't feel bad, Mo, the Red Sox are off to their worst start in over 50 years. Last night's win over gettheminNOVEMBER's "Hankies" was their first. They are 1 - 9 now.

Well, the announcers also referred to 1919 several times last night.

The Cards have the most World Series wins in the National League and are second only to the Hankies in all of baseball. Not bad for a comparatively small market. So I am not all that concerned but losing our co-ace pitcher means we have a reliever now as a new starter, Albert Pujols is off to a slow start. It's a mess.

Season is young and have a couple of new veteran players that need to gel with the rest of the team.

Last night's game was 4+ hours and we lost in the bottom of the 12th inning. Sad

Redbirds win again & beat the Dodgers 9-5! That improves our slow start record to 6-7. If we win tonight we'll be at 500.

getthem, Astros are a rival and it took fans some time to warm up to Berkman, but he's definitely a Cardinal now.

We have two relievers now on the DL. Sad One with a groin pull and the other broke a bone in his hand sliding.

* Famine: In the first 8 games of the season the Cardinals averaged 2.6 runs, batted .216, had an onbase percentage of .297, a slugging percentage of .284, produced 11 extra-base hits and hit a homer every 89.3 at-bats.

* Feast: In the last 4 games, the Cardinals have averaged 9.3 runs, batted .356, compiled a .413 OBP, slugged .613, produced 24 extra-base hits and homered every 18.3 at-bats

We smoked 'em again last night 11-2. Had 19 hits! Pujols AND Berkman hit 2 homers EACH. This is Big Puma's best start ever. He has hit 6 homers in a week & should be NL player of the week.

We have made it to .500! Happy dance
