The Dodgers hold a job fair at Dodger Stadium every year, about a month before the season begins. They usually have about 500 hourly part-time jobs available, paying around $10 - $17 per hour, and they usually get close to 10,000 applicants!getheminNOVEMBER wrote:37 days til lefttil opening day.

Same thing in NY. Even if it is part time. Something for folks to think about.

I hope the Detroit Tigers can make it this time. I remember the 1984 World Series. That was one event in a million.

Sir Albert is with the Cards throughout this year. He has said many times he would like to stay a Cardinal his entire career as did Stan the Man Musial. Just hope at the end of the season we can afford him.
Opening day? Hey, we broadcast Spring training games here staring next week!! Cardinal nation is hard core and St. Louis is referred to as Baseball City.

Oh no!!!!!! We have two pitcher aces...Chris Carpenter and Adam Wainwright. Wainwright has hurt his elbow & may be out for the season.
This is really bad

Pujols decided to stay one more year with the Cardinals? I thought he was leaving before opening day.

Re: Lets talk baseball/football/hockey or any other sport.
He doesn't become a free agent until 2012. He said he wanted to wrap up negotiations before arriving for spring training so as not to be plagued by it all season. At the end of the season there will be a small window. The Cards sell out most home games, but we are a small market compared to other markets.

Beckett suffers ‘mild concussion’ after being hit in head
Hey, Kermit, your Yankees did this!
Red Sox pitcher Josh Beckett was hit on the head by a wayward ball while standing in left-center field during Monday morning’s workout and was sent home with “mild concussion symptoms.”
