- This section extends unemployment insurance benefits through January 3, 2013. Further, this section will increase the length of unemployment eligibility from 99 weeks to 114 weeks to provide relief to the long-term unemployed. This is the first time that I've paid a lot of attention to what Congress is doing and it is making me wonder how these people get elected! Yikes! These Repuplicans are arrogant assholes who don't think things through! This HR 3630 is the most convoluted bill with too many things thrown in to the mix including slashing our benefits...

The Congressional Progressive Caucus has introduced the "RESTORE the American Dream Act". Following up on last year's People's Budget, it's a comprehensive set of reforms for the 99%. It has provisions to create 5 million jobs and pay for it by taxing higher incomes progressively and taxing financial transactions. It will end the war in Afghanistan and cut base military spending.
