Its Time For a Pep Talk....
Congress is returning on Monday. I know we are all down in the dumps, with good reason, but we all have to continue to fight.
We, as Americans deserve better than to be left behind and forgotten. We are what built this Nation. This country cant survive with out us. We are important and want to contribute to society again.
We must keep emphasizing the facts. Especially the fact that there are 3 million jobs available for more than 15 million unemployed and that is why we need to continue to receive UI benefits until the UE rate is back down to a reasonable number.
PLEASE continue to fight with us via Twitter, email, fax, and phone. I know there are some that say its not working, but I disagree 100%. I think it is working and we cant stop now. In fact, we should kick it up a notch. We have to flood there offices, phone lines, email & Twitter accts. Dont give up!!
One thing I have to say is please use tact when tweeting etc. simply demanding that they "give us our money now" will not get us any where. I know its frustrating and I know that those who have said that in the past are honorable and hard working people. But it just caters to the nay sayers "idea" of us and how they say we really are. We need to show them that we are intelligent productive members of society who deserve better. We want to work, but we need HR 589 until jobs are created. We did not cause this mess, wall street and big banks did.
Another thing...Keep in mind that their is a whole other world out there and we must be sensitive to it. Even though we are going through perhaps the most dark time in our lives, we must realize that the world goes on anyway and that there are lots of other important issues that must be resolved on top of the unemployment situation.
In the past I have been so consumed in my own doom that I didn't realize that life goes on for those who aren't effected by this. We cant be angry with those who are still doing well and have jobs. We must educate them and warn them that no one is safe in this economy, but do it with the understanding that they cant possibly know what we are going through.
SO, that concludes the pep talk for today!! LOL
I know some of you are probably cursing at me after reading this but please know that I love you all and want all the suffering to end.
Keep up the fight!!

Re: Its Time For a Pep Talk....
Thank you for the pep talk Sick & Tired.
We must keep our dignity no matter how hard things are for each and everyone of us, and to never give up!!! I have been emailing all day to the Media, I just sent a very informative message to several MSM outlets, I know there's no guarantee they will acknowledge it but I can certainly make my voice heard, I mean it is our right and all.
I have been contacting our Rep here in Riverside County and of course I hear nothing but then again he is a Republican so that should be no surprise

No one is cursing you. It needed to be said. Thank you and many others who are always positive and always ready to work for our cause.
We do need to kick it up a notch starting Monday.
