NFL lockout is now in effect; pro football enters first work stoppage since 1987
National Football League team owners locked out the league's players Saturday, shutting down professional football for the first time in 24 years and plunging the nation's most popular and prosperous sport into a time of uncertainty.

Not to mention the amount of people that are now unemployed who worked for the teams in the front offices, ticket sales, marketing, player personnel, administrative support and on and on. In addition, all the people who count on stadium work for the season who now have no jobs.
I think the world's gone crazy.

I posted this yesterday and the minute the NFLPA de-certified itself meant that the NFL Players would be filing an anti-trust lawsuit against the NFL and its owners as well as seeking an injunction against the NFL preventing them from locking out the players.
The problem is that nobody else cares who wins. Here, you have millionaires fighting billionaires.

Something caused by the GREED of the owners and players imo. Who does it hurt the most? The vendors, stadium workers, hotels, restaurants, airlines, radio and tv workers are the ones that will hurt the most. There will be layoffs and lack of revenue for all the cities and states who have teams. STRIKE THIS NFL!!!!

Well, I don't have sympathy for either side but I think it's disingenuous of the owners to claim they need the extra 1 billion dollars for maintenance and upkeep when it's the city taxpayers who actually have paid for construction, continue to pay for the upkeep and maintenance and the owners are misrepresenting the actual costs that are involved.

This is all caused by GREED and imo GREED is the root cause of ALL of the problems we are having in this country. Name me one thing that doesn't involve MONEY and name me one person who has it that wants even more. This begs the question...How much money does a person REALLY need?
