Hello all,

I'm new here and I have a question. I got fired from my job back in 3/2010 and have been on unemployment since that time. I recently got a part time job in early February and got terminated from that position. I was wondering what are my options? Do I just continue my existing tier claim or how does it work now that I've been terminated again?

It sounds like you didn't work long enough or make enough money from your recent part-time job to file a new claim. You should be able to go back on your original claim and what ever tier you were on when you went back to work. Most states require you call your unemployment office to reactivate your claim.

Thanks for the quick reply, DesperateinRI. I appreciate the timely response. I was hoping that I would just be able to continue my current tier of UC, but I was wary since I recently got terminated from that part-time position. Thanks for the welcome!

I thought you had to earn "4 times your weekly benefit amount" to re-open the claim? Or is that for opening a new one?
