I have spent it weeding and mowing my yard for the first time this year. I am going to get cleaned up and go to Denny's for the free breakfast and then watch the ball game. I hope we can win for a change!

I'd love to get outside and start cleaning my perennial garden, but I know we are going to have another frost. I can see shoots starting to come up but don't want to rake the fall debris out yet. It is good insulation against the frost. At least the trees are starting to turn green. That is a happy sight after this winter - I never thought we would see the grass again with all the snow we had!

hello everyone........got internet turned on today so no more having to check in on my phone........we are good working on the house mostly....jeffs job is going great he comes up for his 90 evaluation soon....stewie doesnt like the heat much, but he will get used to it.......

Job is going well- - worked a lot of hours in a short time - 36.5 hours in three days - yesterday I worked 14 hours - it's rough but at least it's$$$$ coming in. I have today and tomorrow off and then will be working the next 5 days - possibility of 50+ hours.

Today is my birthday and I can't believe that I turned the big 60!. OMG - my how time flies by. I keep saying to myself - Marti, you have to make it thru 2 more years and then social security - if it's still there! And then I can look for a part-time job and maybe start enjoying my retirement without too much worry.

But boy I'm tired (and out of shape from not working for over 3 years). Got to get my mind and body in sync. On my feet all day and sometimes it gets so warm you get real sweaty, felt weak-kneed at times - I don't believe I drank so much water in my life as I did yesterday - and then off course when you drink a lot of water - well bathroom runs are a necessity. But there's money coming in and that's what matters.

My sister stopped by real early, waking me up after sleeping for only a couple of hours. She gave me a card & inside was a gift card from Stop & Shop - I was so touched that I started crying. It will be put to good use and I was so appreciative.

And no I will not be cooking today!In a little while I'm going to my sons for a cookout. And then I'm coming home and settling in for some movie watching and catching up on some shows that I taped.

Gotta go and get ready to leave but I'll be stopping by every few days to catch up with the news, and also to try to continue the advocating.

I haven't been around as much lately. Between the job and a lot of things to do around my mothers house I been tied up.
Just wanted you all to know I haven't forgotten about you guys. I may be working, but it's not a job I could support myself on by any means. I'm hoping once I get a few months under my belt I'll be more appealing to the type of job I want.

I got a puppy this weekend,I wasn't looking for a puppy but a friend of my moms bought this 8 week old jack russel pup n then decieded it wasn't a good time for her to have a puppy...so stewie has a little sister...ill get a pic on later..

We got 2 kittens, whos names change daily because my kids cant decide what to call them LOL We also werent sure what the sex was yet because they were so little when we got them. We've had them for 4 weeks or so and we now know they are both male. They are THE cutest things and we are so glad we got them!!

Good morning everyone - had a little time this morning so I wanted to check in - work is o.k. but long hours - @ least 12 hour days but last night was a short night - 10.5 hours. Working 4 days on - 3 days off - but can't complain (not really) it's $$$ coming in, more than what I what I was surviving on the past year. . Funny - when working the way I divide my day is by looking forward to breaks - 4:30, 8:30 and 11:30 - that's what gets me by - Another great thing is health benefits - I get health insurance plus eye care! Now I can get my eye examine and some new specs. Can't wait.

Still advocating - but don't have the time to put in like I use o - a couple of e-mail, a couple of tweets and retweets is all I can manage for now. Getting frustrated by all the political nonsense that is going on that is distracting what the real problem is - Jobless Americans - you guys can't give up - we have to make sure the attention stays on the plight of the unemployed. Enough of Weiner's weiner already!

Well gotta jump into the shower and get ready for work - at least it's a little cooler in the plant than it is at home. My first paycheck is tomorrow - and I'm buying an air conditioner.

mrmarti, congratulations on the job. I am happy for you. And yes, get that a/c. Computer is upstairs and it's 98 here, I have to keep running down to sit in the livingroom a/c and then run back up. Thanks SnT, its my one passion in life. Just got some new gear too which is what I used on this shoot.
Traded a netbook for an Olympus Digital SLR and a few Manual focus lenses of exceptional quality.
My Moms new BF is an amazing photographer and has tons of gear so he hooked me up.

Im happy considering since losing my job I had to sell off a lot of my stuff.
So now I have 2 good cameras and a few good lenses.
We are talking about going into wedding photography as a team. He did it for years and Ive been trying to break into it for a while now, but got too depressed last 2 years ( we all know why) and lost interest.

just got my first paycheck and went shopping today and splurged on a nice steak for supper tonight, along with a salad, garlic bread and some rice. it felt real good being able to splurge on groceries this week - everyone got a treat - plus I got enough points on my card now to get $.50 off a gallon of gas. This has been a great two weeks - 36 hour my first week and 42 hours this past week. 4 days on, 3 days off - don't go back to work til Tuesday. So tomorrow and Monday will catch up on laundry and some housework, maybe mow the lawn and relax - it feels o.k. now to relax now that I feel like I have a purpose again.

Desperate/MaryKay - checked the weather and this coming week is going to be in the '70's so my fan will do just fine. Decided to spend the money on bills instead (lights insurance and some $ to cable) and catch up on them.....plus no one had any good deals on a/c - they were all around $150.00 - waiting for the Sunday paper to see is they go on sale, I know last year you could get one for around $100- definitely (if the price is good) this coming paycheck I will get one.
