Some of them are really weird though. ATM...? What? At the moment....I don't think so. More like the automatic teller machine to me.
Wow on the left hand column there are acronyms for every category under the sun. What about UTS?

No..JJ...I will stay a renaissance woman. Proud of that, thanks.
Watch, all this internet stuff will go up in smoke (uis) someday...and we will be back to sending letters to each other via post office and seeing each other in person. Wow...won't that be refreshing.

My wife and I are still too old fashioned for this techie world we live in. Still pay our bills with checks, still file income taxes manually by mail, have cell phone for calls only, and many other things my older brain can't remember at the moment! Funny, in the 60's and 70's we thought our parents were old-fashioned! LOL

@too old to hire in pa.....yeah...I still see lines of people at the post office at Christmas time, sending off packages to people in the north. You know, all the snowbirds are down here and the rest of us, who hate the cold, but are penniless.

Re: Internet "Chat" Acronym List
@JJ...I know, when I was a working graphic artist...I snubbed "snail mail" too. I pay online for most things. But with being unemployed for so long..who cares whether I am internet savvy or not? Really.......it just doesn't matter anymore. I have my artwork up and running on my web page. Big deal. I don't have the "brain" for computer languages. When I was learning Macromind Director back in the 90s and had to learn code...I looked around at all the artists in my class room, we were mind-boggled. But, the musicians, math and science majors had no problem doing the code. I still cannot code. I can do basic HTML....and that is pulling my hair out.

So am I. I picked up a few acronyms on Facebook, but was clueless on many. Guess we have to join the 21st Century sometime or another! Thanks to JJ, who found this, we will be able to figure out what people are talking about!

Re: Internet "Chat" Acronym List
Absolutely hilarious ... I've just learned to recognize the terms because I use them often.

Re: Internet "Chat" Acronym List
JJ did you know you can skip pulling down an emotion and just type for example instead?
A wink is a semicolon with parenthesis over the 0 key. A smile can be typed with a colon and same parenthesis. There are many more. Give it a try.
Back in the day there were chat boards that were all text based and that's how they developed.
