Hi everyone. I am so sorry to have been away. As you may or may not know my Dad passed away April 20th. He took a major turn for the worse and the cancer just took over as did his compromised pulmonary function.

I cannot thank all of you enough for the thoughts and prayers. My Dad was a devout Catholic and prayers were his life blood. So thank you from him as well.

Still lots to do with settling the estate etc, which is sad but keeping me busy. I am trying to get back here as much as possible, hoping next week for at least three days. For right now, with appts and people I have to meet at the house I never know which days, but I am still here and just utterly disgusted to see that nothing has been done to help the employment situation, the unemployed and the 99ers.

Open to any and all suggestions to try and make some noise and get some attention. Please pm me with your thoughts and ideas and I will start up once again.

Missed you all very much and again, many thanks.

Your friend,
MaryKay

Mary Kay, I am so sorry for your loss. I hope you are taking care of yourself and have some supportive people around you in this time.

I also feel disappointed in the lack of attention and action regarding the unemployed and underemployed. Statistics and supposed experts saying things like the recession is over or things are better are hurtful to those who have no job, or are working for much lower pay etc.

I am so blessed in that I finally have a full-time job again. I really was becoming despondent because it seemed like I would never land a real job. The job is a great fit for me and I really keep thanking god over and over. I still have a few challenges but I can get through it. The pay is much lower than I was making before losing my job in 2009 but I can find a way to meet the bills I am sure. Property taxes are so hard to take but I feel blessed that I still have my home. I may have let some maintenance go, but my mortgage is current. So, i am so so grateful as I know people are struggling.

Thank you for all you do and again be sure you take time to take care of yourself.

Welcome back MK. Your presence was certainly missed. My deepest condolences go out to you and your family. We know your Dad is in a better place and his suffering has been put at ease.
