Re: UF2 Members Chat Thread: Part 3
First topic message reminder :
I'd love to get outside and start cleaning my perennial garden, but I know we are going to have another frost. I can see shoots starting to come up but don't want to rake the fall debris out yet. It is good insulation against the frost. At least the trees are starting to turn green. That is a happy sight after this winter - I never thought we would see the grass again with all the snow we had!

I have spent it weeding and mowing my yard for the first time this year. I am going to get cleaned up and go to Denny's for the free breakfast and then watch the ball game. I hope we can win for a change!

Back to the Job Boards. As it's said "More difficult to find work, than to do it!" The roller coaster effect of imagining yourself in a position, selling yourself in the cover letter and resume, and then either no answer or rejection gets really, really OLD? I know, I know I'm preaching to the choir here! LOL I truly admire everyone who stays in the game, and everyday chases the 'Golden Ticket' for a full time job!! I've only been at it six weeks (after two yr for DH) and at least half my apps are for part-time, min wage jobs. I know I'm a rookie, new kid on the block, and lack all seniority for compliants but just wanted to validate everyone's pain, distress, depression and perhaps instruct THOSE who THINK they know how IT IS to rethink it AFTER they do it for themselves...

What worked for me is going back to school and then networking. Its only 4 days a week but it feels good to be back.
My message to people is its not your fault and only someone who has lived it can really understand. Situations change from state to state.

How much do you want for the cat laying on the table?
Nice house and yard! Looks like a nice day there. Overcast and cool here.
I have been looking around my house and trying to figure out what I am willing to give up. A yard sale is a great idea. I have accumulated so much stuff over the years, I guess it is time to start selling.

Craigs list we put ads up for people who wanted to throw stuff away. We would come and take it. I stocked up our garage all winter. I just found some silver spoons and hoop earings someone thougt they were junk. There is about 27 bucks in silver weight. Plus 8mm boris Karloff movies from the 50s I looked them up and they are worth about 80 bucks. I found a bunch of stamps too in one box I have not looked them up yet. They don't look old though.

Prayers to the people of Hackelberg, Alabama. The town was just about totally destroyed by tornadoes. Speechless.

Re: UF2 Members Chat Thread: Part 3
FYI - Huff Post article today "Sleepwalking through UNEMP CRISIS..." by Mohamad El Erain (sp?) has a complete factual picture of unemp stats and missed opportunities of our country at this great crossroads in our economy. I can only hope and wish someone in POWER sees this TRUTH. Time is wasting and past due for attention to this HUGE ON-GOING PROBLEM!!
Some days I think it's more unfair for the younger one's with mountains of student debt, just starting out;other days I think it's more difficult for those of us 55 yr+ as we know it SHOULDN'T be this way and cannot believe I have lived to see such a mess in my lifetime!
We, as a country, cannot THRIVE when perhaps 25% of population is barely SURVIVING!! We HAVE to GROW our way to prosperity!!

Re: UF2 Members Chat Thread: Part 3
HI folks, I hope everyone is hanging in there during these tough times we are in now.
My time here may become limited seeing as I have a pretty solid lead on a job, and I'm pretty confident on it. If I do get the job my time here will be limited to evenings etc ; however no worries about if the forum will be here still.
I have made arrangements to keep UFF2 going even if I get this job. I will still be active on the forum but just not in the same fashion.
Rest assured that UFF2 will be handled in the same manner and professionalism that it always has been.
I will keep all members informed If this does happen. AND NO WE WONT SHUT DOWN UNANNOUNCED IN ONE DAY LIKE UF1 did.
