First topic message reminder :

Is the meeting still on? YES. Boehner has to be in the Oval Office at the White House today at 1 p.m. As of the time I hit the PUBLISH button for this post it is ON… will update later…. Once again, there is a budget war raging in the background and political tension is high as you can see on CNN and MSNBC. Regardless, the friendship between Rep. Scott and fellow Virginian, House Majority Leader Eric Cantor will help… as will the focus of Rep. Lee.

Rep. Lee understands that if the bill is designated as an “emergency” finding funding is unnecessary. Can the White House be convinced that’s a good idea? Sources say they already have been. Did CBC Chairman Emanuel Cleaver think of this at the White House meeting last week? No… but that was then. This is now.

I wonder if the lack of participation of most 99ers is because some of them are republicans. Let’s face it, most if not all the unemployment forums typically lean left while bashing and insulting republicans, just saying!

You have to be real dumb to just sit back and do nothing. Don't be a sheep fox watcher! Stand up fight back and tell others to join the fight! The powers that be are counting on you doing nothing.

99er's the reality is they want us on Welfare. Which in reality is what extending unemployment benefits beyond 99 weeks really is. Just maybe not called that, but in essence thats what it would be anyway. President Obummer and his administration would like nothing more than the 99ers to become Welfare recipients. Its more people reliant and under Government control, which is what this Socialist Administration is all about.

I really hope that isn't their intent. The 99ers are not eligible for welfare or any other human services benefit unless they have children under 18.

If your definition of "Socialism" is taking care of American citizens first, rather than helping their big business cronies with outrageous tax breaks, I'll take that form of government any day.

Rather than taking action to try to replace the millions of jobs and industry that have been lost over the past three years, all they have been doing is playing political games and nothing has been accomplished.

It is really sad that not one piece of legislation has been passed that will give tax credits or other incentives for hiring. The tax credits given only give corporations more reason to sit on their profits and either outsource or expect their remaining employees to do the job of 3 or 4 people.

These comments are amazing. What lack of participation? Sit back? WTH! IMO, 99ers have been at the forefront of this fight! We have been the most involved and have logged massive amounts of time lobbying for us all---for months. These gross generalizations are insulting and obviously uninformed and I am frankly shocked to find such comments here.

I know all of us 99ers here and other unemployment advocacy groups and websites are participating and I’m truly grateful for that. I’m talking about the other millions & millions of 99ers NOT participating. They say there could be more than 7 million 99ers and I only found roughly 1000 (One thousand) 99ers who support any form of extensions. This is my definition of a “lack in participation”. C’mon, 6.9 million 99ers can’t be dead or without means to communicate their voice.
