Scott and Lee offer new proposal on 99er unemployment extension (H.R. 589)
Just came across this one. Apparently, Rep Lee and Scott have drafted a new proposal. The plan they offered would forgo the "emergency" designation and instead subject the legislation to House rules that require any new spending to be offset by cuts elsewhere in the budget.

At this point, I don't care how it gets passed, I just want it passed. I'm just tired of having no money to get by on. Having 14 weeks of benefits would allow me not only to give my mom extra money for food every two weeks but it would also provide me money to go out and look for a job as well as buy some new clothes and a few things for myself.
I've always used those unemployment checks to spend in our local economy ...

Just get it paid for!! I'm sure there is a few billion dollars under all the couch cushions in the senate. The legislature is making this much harder than it needs to be. This would be money well spent and flow back into the economy faster that you can say"Bob's your uncle".

I think that the American People have waited long enough for this bill to get passed. We need this passed right now.

We're all in the same boat. The only we can do is hang in long enough and hope that Congress passes this bill quickly. But, knowing how slow Congress works, it's doubtful we'll get a vote before they go on break and it could take quite a few weeks because Senate Republicans are already saying that they're going to block every bill over the deficit reduction.
Senate Republicans have developed "TUNNEL VISION".
