**3/8/211** 99ers Union issues urgent appeal for 99er unemployment extension (HR 589)

A group advocating for passage of The Emergency Unemployment Compensation Act (H.R. 589) -- which would retroactively extend benefits to 99ers -- issued an urgent "call for co-sponsors" yesterday, asking supporters to contact their congressmen immediately.

"This bill now has 73 co-sponsors, all Democrats so far," the American 99ers Union said in an e-mail to supporters, adding "The Republicans are in the majority in the House. Therefore it is essential that we get Republicans to also co-sponsor and support this bill." The Union also reminded supporters that "this bill must pass in the House before it goes to the Senate.

i sent emails out.......making a few phone calls

There are Republicans on the hill that support 99ers, so why is there not one of them as a co-sponsor? What gives? And I don't want to hear the "they are all evil thing either". Something is strange about this. Lots of states with Republicans in charge would want federal money for their economy.

Its that bird face McConnel's fault. If he would agree with something, the house would follow....
