Frustrated

First topic message reminder :

WHAT THEN HELL DOES IT TAKE? HONESTLY!! I am just an 18 year old College student who just wants to work, I have tried every place in my area, everywhere, have had countless interviews, every advice, And here I am unemployed, while everybody else I know has a job! I am down on my luck and I don't know what to fricking do, WHAT DOES IT TAKE?

I also wanted to share something in solidarity with all unemployed workers and i think this is an important message for everybody struggling.

Guys, I don't think i got the job at chipotle so i am placing my bets on the theater, i should hear from them this week.

thats what i get the last few weeks, people calling me, emailing etc, etc about something that may possibly open up or maybe...

sometimes its thesame people who called six months ago and fell through...

but since there is a slim chance this time it will be a real job, i have to keep at it....it is as you say....FRUSTRATING!!

I'm sorry to see that you didn't get the job at Chipotle...don't give up. At least you are going on interviews, that's more than some folks. Keep plugging away! And please don't get down on yourself if another one falls thru...

Have you tried calling the theater again, or going down there, to see if they have made a decision yet on who they are going to hire??? That might work.

The theater is not there yet, it's a coming soon location.

Okay, then I would wait a week, and write them another letter.

Well, i haven't heard anything yet. THIS SO ANNOYING. I HAVE HAD 20+ INTERVIEWS IN THE PAST 4 MONTHS AND NO OFFERS, WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH ME? NO EMPLOYER WILL TELL ME WHAT I AM DOING WRONG AND VERY FEW OF THEM ACTUALLY FOLLOW UP ON MY INTERVIEW. IT SO FREAKING RUDE! WAY TO GO JOB CREATORS OF AMERICA!

Well, what you describe is the rudeness, unprofessionalism, and ignorant behavior of business owners/employers...while jobs are not be created, it is them who frustrate us, because they leave us hanging. There is nothing wrong with you...it's because there are probably 100 of other people applying for the same job...they are going to take the most experienced, and the best personality that suits them. Hang in there!

Its ok to give up......every once in a while i give up for a few days....

I tell myself I can survive under a bridge...except theres NO electricity and NO baths...(yeck)....maybe a long extension cord....

At one time i was going to sell sea shells by the sea shore (with smiley faces)......

The point is you can not keep beating yourself up looking, and looking with no results...take off a little time and RECHARGE

It's not that i am tired of looking, I am tired of dealing with employers and their bullcrap. Honestly, it should be illegal for them not to give you a definitive answer. I don't know why there is no outrage over this.

I agree, we should be all getting together and having someone from a reporter from TV, and do a program on us!! Wake up the world! I'm with you 100%. When do we start?

Sierraman, no one is laughing at you, really. We all share in your frustration and aggrevation. It's hurtful, annoying and we all feel at times it's a waste of time and energy, not to mention gas and dry cleaning to attend job fairs, fill out applications etc. Sadly, we can't give up, we have no choice. We have been abandoned. We get some press coverage, for like 90 seconds and then we go back to talking about "abortion, Birth Certificates, hurricanes and the like. Even the press discusses that there is no talk of the economy and jobs, but they never force the issue when they have the chance to interview. It's nauseating.

But, please don't think we are laughing. We are all in the same boat. The laughter is better than tears many times and don't forget, we've all been doing this since roughly 2008. What we need is more and more people like you to join with us so we can make the entire Country know just how many of us there really are, not just the politicians. If the Country knew just how really bad things are, they may not be so smug, may think differently about the unemployed and the sheer numbers screaming in unison to get something done is what we really need.

To make matters worst, i just got a bill for a traffic ticket i got a few weeks ago, i wouldn't be so depressed about it and feel so guilty about it if I had a JOB!

This just happened to me as well! The only two times I ever got pulled over were on the way to job interviews, if you can believe that luck. The first time was making an illegal u-turn, but obviously I'd never been there before so the cop let me off the hook. This one was a month ago, for speeding, and they just sent me my documents for a plea. I can't afford the ticket, so hopefully they just drop or reduce the charges. Not to mention I want to keep this off of my record. Ugh.
