Re: Well said.....now let's stop the BS
The person quoted in this article must now be a lobbyist for big oil companies, that keep the pockets of the GOP lined with $$$$.

Re: Well said.....now let's stop the BS
Yes he must be, because it would make to much sense to have our fuel pumped over friendly lands where we didn't have to deploy forces and fight.
Maybe Reid will put the expiring (end of Dec) Alternative Fuels Legs in a bill...wait that would solve a problem.

The keystone pipeline sends the oil to the gulf wher it will be shipped out of this country. It's all bs. That oil will not lower prices for us and it will not be used by Americans. It's a scam folks. 20 k jobs? Yea right more like 8k for about six months then start pumping more cash into people's pockets that don't need it. Total joke at our expense once again.

It's all a scam because the corporations are running the country. They fund the Republican's campaigns (the Tea Party) and dictate to them what they want like puppets...

Don’t forget the Dems and their masters; Wall Street and the Hedge fund manager. They supported Obama and the Dems in the previous election cycle so please be sure to promote the outrage there too, unless of course that’s ok.

I see the Repuplicans are a GREAT DEAL WORSE than the Dems. They are destroying and hurting those who have no way to help themselves--mostly the senior citizens, unemployed and the middle class... Unethical at best, amoral and mean!

Money and politics do not mix. No brainier there.
Term limits on all public officials. No brainier again.
I'd like to know who came up with, let's give congress the power to
give itself raises? Even better, whos idea was it to pay them their wages even after they leave office? Does anyone know?

Yes that is true (and as it should be) about the world markets but nobody said anything about those points you mentioned above. As for jobs if jobs are the issue then it's a far better bet (oh wait I'm sorry investment) then Solyndra ever was or could have been lol.
Your argument is lacking and you miss the importance of oil in a friendly nation as well as glaze over the benefits of having a supply line right next door.
That alone far out weighs all above talking point BS
The later part about politicians is true and I am in full agreement with.

Re: Well said.....now let's stop the BS
Just my two cents, but what if: Dems give up taxes on rich for now (it's never going to get through with the current congressional situation, dems have to face it) and give them the pipeline. In return, repubs sign off on unemployment insurance including 99ers and the payroll tax cut. As much as I'd like to think they might be able to get some other stuff out of the deal, let's face it: asking to include the 99ers would likely already be pushing it.
It's like, if the past is any indication of what to expect, dems should know the repubs are going to get what they want eventually. Obama has never shown enough spine or moxie to make it any other way, so why not accept the reality instead of fighting it and try to maximize what they get in return?

How both sides just do what benefits the country instead of their respective parties.

Here's the problem the Dems feel the 2 week thing is working for them so why change it? The Repubs want to stop the rise in points and if they can't then back to the base it's all BS

Re: Well said.....now let's stop the BS
Nice dodge, the Repubs shot down a plan that would give a two month extension for a permanent tax increase for fees attached to the mortgages backed by Fannie, FHA and Freddie. So like what 9 out of 10 mortgages go through them so it’s only obvious how that would help the housing market and the greater economy……lol.
What did the CBO say about the Dems mortgage fee plan? Let’s see 10 years to make up for the lost revenue (or the associated fee) that the party of the people (Dems) wanted. So the cost of that plan was what? $35.7 billion to replenish the lost revenue; so the bill wasn't paid for.
At some point the other side needs to come up with a better plan then fuzzy math and tax hikes. Were broke and as most of us on here know when broke you stop spending and start cutting back, not increase spending with new money and still not covering the bill you still owe (that’s called stupidity).
The party that represents the group that pays no taxes and receives most of the benefits has no skin in the game to do otherwise then do the above.

Re: Well said.....now let's stop the BS
They just know the spin and and are the 42% always on the dole they are irrelevnet to the GOP.
Understand the logic, the take hike pays for two months of payroll and then some of UE. The tax hike is Dem smoke and mirrors, it isn't real (get it) and provides no benefit and isn't really paying for anything.
By using phony math the Dems cost us $35.7 billion while claiming it's paid for (based off the CBO's report on the actually cost vs. benefit).
Once you get beyond the spin of "hey it's paid for" and actually do the math like the CBO did it's all BS.

Not taking the bait this time. When I (or another "ulra-left elitist") point out stuff like facts, we have to shut the convo down (moderate) because I'm being mean to you.
But just between you and me, I'd watch that contempt for the 42%--I don't think that will win you many friends here.

I assume with your "42% always on the dole" comment, you're making reference to the whole "a bunch of people don't pay taxes" conservative talking point.
In that case, this might interest you.
http://www.politicususa.com/en/half-americans-taxes
About half of taxpayers paid no federal income tax last year. It does not mean they paid no tax at all. Many shelled out Social Security and Medicare payroll taxes. In fact, only 14 percent of Americans didn’t pay either income or payroll taxes. Some paid property taxes and, it is fair to say, just about all of them paid sales taxes of one kind or another. So to say they pay no taxes is flat wrong.
However, this class warfare-like rhetoric plays to a perception that the income tax is a chump tax: Only hard-working folks like us pay it. The welfare queens don’t. The super-rich don’t. It is a powerful emotional argument. It is also flat wrong.
The actual number of Americans who don’t pay any taxes isn’t half, but 14%. This group of non-taxpayers of any kind is largely composed of the elderly and disabled. The people who don’t pay taxes do so because they can’t work.
