For the 99ers ~ Our Daily Rant!

In keeping with many of the news shows, The Daily Rundown, The Best New Thing in the World Today (Chuck Todd and Rachael Maddow respectively), I give you Our Daily Rant.

From time to time, we have been offended and hurt by a snarky remark from one of our elected officials. While the 99ers Advocating Threads are not for Dem vs. Rep, we can tweet the offending party, i.e. Our Daily Rant.

This thread wasn't completed last week, but Senator Jeff Sessions made what I thought was a rather snarky, hurtful and uninformed comment about the fact that Food Stamps have tripled in the last 5 years, what is that about the Senator remarked. Well, in my very wordy fashion he received an email, with my entire story from June 2008 (lay off date) to present. I explained to him how I am not alone and if he ever bothered to pay attention, that the lack of action in Congress and the Senate are costing the states the additional burden of medicaid and food stamps as it is the only life raft the 99ers can get, and it's not available in every state. My only hope is that he was as mind numbingly bored reading my story as I am when he is speaking on the floor and I get to see him on cspan.

The point, when we feel the need to correct them on a subject or right a wrong, we do a twitter attack and let them know about it.

So all members, when you hear of something that deserves the daily rant, by all means, tweet, but post it hear so we can help.

It may not change anything, but if it makes us all feel better, MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!.

I know some people don't use Twitter. Maybe an Unemployed Friends Daily Rant thread can be tweeted daily to certain members of Congress and media. Non-tweeters can vent here and the volunteer tweeters can tweet the whole thread. Just a suggestion.

What a great idea.

To start tomorrow's Daily Rant:

Why, if the unemployed are accused of getting something for nothing are we supposed to swallow another tax cut for job creators. If you own a company, want it to grow you need employees to make that happen. Now, the job creators not only want another tax holiday, they want workers specifically trained to suit their companies' tailor made needs. Here's a thought. It's called on the job training (like we always used to do, back in the 50's, 60's 70's, then in the 80's we introduced crosstraining in addition to training and carried it through until 2008. Now, what -- you expect the government to train and retrain your employees and future employees? That's okay on the federal government's dime, but not an extension of benefits. Fiscally responsible? Why do companies get the break?

So, in that light, tomorrow's daily rant shall include:

#Don't complain, RETRAIN!(ON YOUR DIME, NOT THE FEDERAL GOV'T)
#Want a Tax Break - HIRE A# 99ER AT A LIVING WAGE FOR MINIMUM 2 YEARS.

With the millions of people unemployed and starving, a debt debate and a super committee soon to wreak havoc once again. No one is in DC driving the ship. And what is the media covering, Herman Cain, and now it's the Democrats fault. Wasn't it Rick Perry's fault this weekend????????? That's my daily rant.

Didn't Herman say "blame yourself" just a few weeks ago...? Oh wait, that's if you don't have a job. If you have a habit of sexually assaultinginappropriately coming on to women, blame everyone else!

I hope that any of us 99ers that need food stamps get them. This is the only benefit that I can still get from those in Washington. And the only way my family eats!!! I have used all my visit's to two local food banks this year. Anyway thanks again!!!

I am glad you find it helpful lam. I hope you continue to receive them as well. I don't know what will happen for me if they cancel the program either.

Well I think it goes without saying, today's Daily Rant belongs solely to Senator Jim DeMint. Help for Veterans, a democratic trick, really!!!!

There are no words fit to post or print that describe a cheap politician who would deny veterans any benefits after what this country has put them and their families through, for TEN years.

Jim DeMint, you stink!!!!

Hello, I have been unemployed for almost three years,and have ran out of my unemployment benefits. I just pray everyday that many of us who are unemployed will be blessed with a job.

Joanie, welcome to the forum. I am sorry you find yourself in the club with myself and many members, the 99ers.

We are all here, would love for you to be apart of our advocating, we welcome new ideas.

It's a struggle for all the unemployed and particularly the 99ers with no income at all, not to say those still collecting have it easy, just a bit easier, but not much.

Please, get familiar with the forum and if you are comfortable, post your story or join in the frenzy.

Please check out our threads on advocating for the 99ers on the scroll at the left of your screen. We would love to have you signature on our letter which many of us are tweeting, emailing and faxing to various members of the House and Senate as well as the White House and certain media outlets.

Again, welcome. We love to have new friends and I am sure you will come to love the members here as I have.
