Rep. Barbara Lee on MSNBC Daily Rundown on HR 589 April 22
Rep. Barbara Lee was on the "Daily Rundown" (on at 9:00 am Eastern) on MSNBC this morning discussing long term unemployment and HR 589. Although nothing new was mentioned regarding the movement of this bill, she is very passionate about it and pledges to help all those in need. Basically what she discussed was how hard the long term unemployed have been hit and Congress's lack of any type of job creation bills.
I find this very encouraging that even though the House is on break, Ms. Lee is still making appearances on the national news media speaking and advocating for this bill. Rep. Scott did not appear with her due to the sudden death of his childhood friend and Communication Director, Larry Dillard.
The Daily Rundown, which airs right after Morning Joe, should be posting today's episode within several hours. I will keep monitoring MSNBC's site and will post as soon as it becomes available!
Keep contacting! We are being heard, and that voice is spreading.....
Please see this thread for contact information!!

Thanks for posting this Desp!!!!
She chose to discuss the unemployed!! We have all seen many reps and senators appear on these shows and they hardly ever discuss us. This is a good sign. Keep in mind, she could of talked about ANYTHING, but she chose to talk about this! I am taking this as a positive sign.
KEEP CONTACTING CONGRESS!!

I am going to tweet up a storm here in a minute. This is good news no matter how you look at it. Keep up the contact with your reps. I have a 4 day a week job but I will still keep helping out when I can.

That was a You Tube video released by Rep. Lee's offices shortly after the segment. The MSNBC archive probably has a lot more views. Hopefully, a lot of people saw it live also. I did, that is how I knew about it. Really took me by surprise this morning when I heard it.
I'm sure other forums will pick it up also.

I'm glad this was her main talking point. Now to get everyone else on board with it.

The fact its being talked about during the break as well as a lot of the news shows had unemployment as a topic is a positive sign. I think the media is finally waking up, and realize its a disaster.
Please continue to advocate for HR589
