question concerning temp job/benefits
Recently took a temp/part time position for 60 days .While doing this existing claim stayed open as I was 30 hours or less each week and was reporting my income as advised by unemployment office in NJ.
Yesterday I got a notice that my existing claim was no longer valid and a new claim was opened up at a CONSIDERABLE lower amount because during those 60 days I meet income standards for a new claim
Can anyone help me on what to do? can I appeal the decision?
I was on tier II and am a full time student

Re: question concerning temp job/benefits
Two years ago this was a common problem. A Federal Act made this stop. I would appeal it. Your benefits should go no lower then your initial claim. Call up and see what the facts are.

Re: question concerning temp job/benefits
thank you
do you have any info on the federal act or where I can obtain info.So that I can be educated when talking to the nj rep.
I will be calling today to get info on how to file a appeal and Im sure I will be on phone for hours shuffled through may people and still may not get a straight answer.
It is a horrible process
