Update July 1 on HR 589 and the 99ers
Several people have been asking for an update on H.R. 589... After members of the CBC met with President Obama on May 11, 2011 and longterm unemployment insurance came up, there isn’t much that has happened since then. Bickering back and fourth between President Obama, Speaker Boehner and Majority Leader Eric Cantor is sad way partisan politics works in Washington. Many “leaders” are more interested in opposing their opposition than they are in their constituents locally or nationally. Still, one must pay close attention to the clash between the President and House Republicans on the debt ceiling.

Since Boehner, Cantor, McConnell and the gang keep insisting they will never support a tax increase on 300,000 millionaire households and friends the gridlock continues.

My sincere hope is that the world financial community gets a hold of this group and sets them straight on what really needs to be done. They won't listen to US economists so maybe when other countries leaders and their financial people start screaming, they will listen, one can hope. And I firmly believe that if they let this go much past 4th of July, those leaders will be screaming. As the US goes, so goes the world and everyone knows it. And for my money, Eric Cantor needs a little more seasoning on the workings of the United States before he jumps into the deep end of the pool and playing with world economies. Any group of men, Republican, Tea Party or Democrat that can be so smug while so many are struggling just to get through one day at a time needs a real education on how life is. Hopefully, the remarks and the smug looks will be remembered come election time, because sad to say but if any more Republicans get in the Senate or Congress, people will be really living in the street and scavenging for food. Eric Cantor will not be helping at all. And, just for the record, have they sent Paul Ryan and his plan on a long trip, because no one is interviewing him. So, for them to be so glib on the passage of the Paul Ryan plan, is not reflective of the American Peoples Will.

I would hope so, it just strikes me as odd how they all claim he is the new Republican leader, great ideas, blah, blah, and since the introduction of his "well received" budget, he is in witness protection (not really).
