Discouraged, Tired and Sick
Hi all,
I know this is going to come off sounding like "you have to be out of your mind". I landed a job about 7 months ago that is 4 1/2 hours from my home. I drive back and forth each weekend to see my fiance and try to take care of business. We have decided it is not smart for him to relocate - our house, his job, and other issues. I was out of work for 16 months before I got this offer, so of course, I grabbed it. I've been looking again. I hate to site here and say - I have to have another job when there are so many that don't have the first one yet.
I'm just starting a conversation is all.
I am happy that I am working, but the extent that I have to go through to have this job is unbelievable. I'm exhausted every day and our relationship is suffering because I'm never home. We will survive though.
Anyway - because I'm so worn out - this weekend which was going to be our first weekend doing "something" - I couldn't participate because I'm SICK!!! But I have to get better this weekend so I can drive 4 1/2 hours to go back to work!!!!
I know this is going to sound so "minimal" to those of of you that are still struggling to find a job. I too, am still struggling to find a job close to home.
It's Memorial Day and it seems like those that have fought for us to have the freedoms and liberty's that our forefathers dreamed for us - is so gone.
I don't expect anyone to have any pity for me.. I'm just so tired.

Re: Discouraged, Tired and Sick
That is an unbelievable drive!!! Thats aweful.
You must be exhausted.
This is the type of story I wish congress would see! A lot of people are willing to go to extreme in order to get a job. You certainly prove the GOP wrong.
I am very proud of you for sticking it out and dealing with the awful side effects of it. There is nothing wrong at all with continuing to search for another job that is closer to home.
I hope you feel better and wish you the best of luck.

Thank you very much for responding. I was thinking that I was just being stupid in my story, but it's the truth and I'm sure I'm not the only one that has gone to such extremes to just "have a job" in this terrible economy.

Re: Discouraged, Tired and Sick
Question for anyone in the Clearwater/St Petersburg area of Florida. I went on jobs on the internet for customer service under jobs indeed and came up with 664 jobs, is that possible? I moved back to Pa 7 years ago, left a good job but had to come home because of my fathers health and my chances of landing another job here is about 10%, thinking very seriously of moving back to the area. Need some advice!!!

Re: Discouraged, Tired and Sick
Does anyone know or have any personal experience or knowledge/advice on working within the auto insurance industry as a medical claims adjuster? Just curious as strongly looking into that field, not the settlement portion of overall claims or personal/bodiliy injury or property damage, but strictly with medical side of it as medical representative. Doesn't appear ohio requieres or has license as for adjusters, and think this position would be ideal and great fit for me from description job model discovered recently from an employer.
