First topic message reminder :
Yes we are all feeling like HR589 doesnt have a chance, based on our past experience and long wait for a hand up. We have to trust in Mr. G, and keep forging on. they are now asking that we contact our senators asap, it appears that the house passed legislation to cut $60 billion plus from federal programs on saturday, it is now on to the senate. This may be our chance contact your senators and request that any compromises made to this $60billion cut legislation include the passage of HR589. Tell them your story...Tell them as a constituent that you are asking for their help, not a hand out, a hand up, the unemployed and the 99ers have been living the great depression for over 3 years..
Contact your senator and tell them to include HR589 with the legislation to cut the $60billion plus from federal programs...If they need to compromise, then help those that have been out of work for 3 years and havent had a helping hand for almost one year...they are losing their homes, their lifes, when will they pay attention.
Contact your house rep tell them to co sponsor HR 589 and get it out of committee..contact Boehner, Cantor etc...but more importantly contact your state rep.
Yes we are feeling hopeless, but as long as there is hope, shame on us for not continuing to try to get this passed..think of those that are worse off than ourselves, those that are not here with us and therefore dont have a voice, those that have just given up completely and have lost everything..if we can save just one other than our selves, it will be worth our time and effort...No one said this would be easy. Unemployment is easy but we are living it...The people of egypt spoke up, the people in WI are speaking up, the 99ers need to speak up...there might not be many of us here on this or other sites, but that only means that you have to double and triple your efforts...we need to get this out of committee, once it is out watch how many followers we then have...so dont feel your efforts are for nothing

I am just feeling like even if we were to have 1,000 dem. co sponsors it's not giong to do a damn bit of good.
I am so frustrated. I sproke with my House Rep. 26th dist. David Dreier to ask for his support and I was told NO! They do not support it in any way, and I asked about if it were paid for and I was told again and again that there is no way to pay for it. There is no emergency spending anymore. Spending is spending to the repubs. NO SPENDING
I was so hot after a half hour of arguing with his aid on the phone, I had to hang up before I said something that would get me in trouble.
WOW! I just don't know anymore. Without some co-sponsors from the other parties, I feel like we are chasing shadows.

I finished on the Republican side just a bit ago. I don't know if it will help and I am sure that there are more like Mr. Dreier, but I am not giving up. I am going to keep the pressure on. Maybe if they see enough of our names they will finally get the hint.

Why do you say this? Do you have any proof to back those comments up?
Have you been following the actual progression of the bill?
If so you would see there is movement on it and support.
If not, I suggest keeping those comments out of this topic. It serves no purpose other than to upset and disrupt the hope and feelings others may have on this.
I repeat as does the 99ers UNION, This BILL IS NOT DEAD. Please don't make others think it is based on your opinion.

Not for nothing, but maybe its just a realistic view and preventative of getting more hopes dashed by preparing people that it may not pass. If it does its all well and good.
But it serves no purpose and is a bit cruel to keep people with their hopes up high esp in their personal situations, only to have their hearts broken. this would cause more despair. There has to be a balance.
Send your support for this bill but be prepared it might not pass. Have a positive attitude. if it does, a big celebration. If not, then the fight continues.
