Re: UF2 Members Chat Thread: Part 3
First topic message reminder :
I'd love to get outside and start cleaning my perennial garden, but I know we are going to have another frost. I can see shoots starting to come up but don't want to rake the fall debris out yet. It is good insulation against the frost. At least the trees are starting to turn green. That is a happy sight after this winter - I never thought we would see the grass again with all the snow we had!

I have spent it weeding and mowing my yard for the first time this year. I am going to get cleaned up and go to Denny's for the free breakfast and then watch the ball game. I hope we can win for a change!

I haven't been active on this forum for quite awhile. After more than 2 years of unemployment I was finally able to get a full time job with benefits. Now I heard we might lose our benefits. Thank goodness for the Affordable Care Act.

Re: UF2 Members Chat Thread: Part 3
It is still a rumor but our employer may make most of the full time employees part time so he can get out of paying health benefits. Can they do that?
I have been trying for days now to get on the govt. health care website. Still no luck. I have no ideas what my health care costs will be if I lose my benefits at work.

Look at it his way, if you have health insurance, then it's easier to jump jobs. Especially since it is the one benefit that most want when they pick a company to be "perm" at, even though "perm" is a myth now. Job security no longer exists, even in public service.

Nutty, as you know from all of my posts on this board, I am really sorry for the situation you find yourself in, through no fault of your own, and the millions of others in similar situations.stillnutty wrote:Yep and there are MILLIONS LIKE ME THAT ARE NEVER EVEN MENTIONED ANYMOREelvis44102 wrote:unbelievable 7 yearsstillnutty wrote:Just realized that Nov 6 th will mark my 7 th Anniversary from losing my job. Our government has completely abandoned us. In my lifetime, I've never seen such a bunch of corrupt and inept career politicians who are currently running the government at all levels. I think they all must go. This election day, and especially in 2014 (the mid-term elections), I intend to vote against ALL incumbents. This is about the closest, short of an organized nationwide protest (which we were never able to achieve), I can think of to kicking these bums out and starting fresh. A new bunch can't be any worse than what we already have.
Naturally, they'll deny and accuse YOU of being this, but I know insanity when I see it, and the inmates have definately taken over the asylum. They must be stopped, and cooler AND SANER heads must prevail before it's too late, and this country can no longer be saved. I believe this country is still worth saving.
This economy needs to be restarted, which includes putting ALL people back to work. None of this "jobless recovery" crap!

Re: UF2 Members Chat Thread: Part 3
I lost my "real job" which I had had for 17+ years on October 12, 2007. I was jumping for joy when I got my severance check. I thought I would take a month or two off and then get another good job. Boy, was I wrong. I'm working now, but not in my chosen field, and making half my old salary but at least I have health benefits. Now it looks like that because of the Affordable Health Act I might lose my health benefits.stillnutty wrote:Just realized that Nov 6 th will mark my 7 th Anniversary from losing my job. I am going to do the same. I don't care if they are Republican or Democrat. IMO there should be term limits and Congress should have to follow the laws they pass with no exceptions or exemptionsjmainframe wrote:Nutty, as you know from all of my posts on this board, I am really sorry for the situation you find yourself in, through no fault of your own, and the millions of others in similar situations.stillnutty wrote:Yep and there are MILLIONS LIKE ME THAT ARE NEVER EVEN MENTIONED ANYMOREelvis44102 wrote:unbelievable 7 yearsstillnutty wrote:Just realized that Nov 6 th will mark my 7 th Anniversary from losing my job. Re: UF2 Members Chat Thread: Part 3
Hi guys n gals. This saddens me to still see so many still struggling. I've been in and out of job market lately. I just started working again after a couple months being out of work again. I had some health issues arise and was let go due to it few months back. I did just start a new job last week. There is still hope, things are improving in many sectors but not exactly a thriving job market still. I pray everyone stays well in mind body and soul.
Re: UF2 Members Chat Thread: Part 3
Hi guys out of work again for a year. Just thought I'd pop in and say hello. I've had health issues and only recently been looking. How is everyone?
