Re: Breaking News: Unemployment Rate Drops to 8.9%
Of course it would be lower. 99ers aren't counted and our number grows by the thousands each week.
Sure, the unemployment rate went down, but I'm sure the percentage of Americans seeking food stamps, medicaid and other state services shot through the roof. I don't even want to know the numbers of homeless individuals.
The BLS claims they base this figure on phone surveys to 60,000 American households each month - have you ever gotten a call? It has been three years for me and I've never heard from them?
If things are looking so great, tell me -WHERE ARE THE JOBS? Please, don't keep it a secret anymore, I want to work!

Yes, we are supposed to BELIEVE the number crunching manipulations. FUX newz headline read
"Move Over Government, Let the Hiring Begin"
talk about PROPAGANDA lies. Hell, I just heard yesterday 3 more people I knew from my old job got laid off this week. Those WHO control the numbers can manipulate the INFORMATION, but the SLOBBERING media dogs are just eating this UP like it's the second coming of Jesus. Just UNBELIEVABLE.
Oh and Blooberg's headline reads
Stocks point to gains as unemployment claims fall
More market MANIPULATION on bogus news. The richies get PAID, AGAIN.

Re: Breaking News: Unemployment Rate Drops to 8.9%
Boehner must be smoking crack. This notion that tax cuts actually created jobs is a total fantasy. Proof: Did the Bush tax cuts create jobs during his administration? NO, unless you consider 1.1M jobs as growth! We (the people who post here) don't really care about these new numbers because WE ARE STILL NOT WORKING!!!! I'm sick and tired of applying and hearing nothing back or getting interviews that seem to go well then I still don't get hired. I'm sick and tired of being discriminated against because of my age or the length of time I've been out of work. Each day that goes by puts me closer to the dreaded 99 status. Am I discouraged? Yep. Do I feel there is hope? Not much.

http://majorityleader.house.gov/newsroom/2011/03/leader-cantor-statement-on-february-jobs-report.html
“Republicans are responding to voters’ calls in the last election to change the culture in Washington. To put it simply: less government spending equals more private sector jobs. We will continue our efforts to cut spending, overreaching regulations and government waste so that businesses have certainty to grow and create jobs and more people can get back to work.”

Re: Breaking News: Unemployment Rate Drops to 8.9%
Boehner is an old goat who doesn't know what he's talking about. Unemployment Rate drops to 8.9%. Pardon me, but only 192,000 jobs were created. Excuse me for saying this but the economy needs to create more than 300,000 jobs in order to affect the unemployment rate. 192,000 jobs is far less than 300,000 jobs.
Somebody is deliberately fudging those reports ... remember that 300,000 jobs are needed to affect the unemployment rate because of the new generation of workers entering the workforce.
What is his excuse for 16 million unemployed Americans being out of work? Where's the jobs for Americans?

Re: Breaking News: Unemployment Rate Drops to 8.9%
It's offensive, it's what it is. I think our country is going to become embroiled in a severe protest against the Federal government because the long term unemployed are starting to realize that Congress is doing nothing but stringing this unemployment bill along ...
While I appreciate Rep Lee and Rep Jackson for introducing the bill, they're also stringing this bill along. They could easily find offsets, instead, they're stringing unemployed Americans along by not using offsets to pay for the extension.
Republicans would probably jump on board if they would introduce the bill with offsets. I want to know what Lee and Jackson are waiting for? The roof to fall on their heads?

It gets better. ABC News is reporting this as a good thing:

Re: Breaking News: Unemployment Rate Drops to 8.9%
This is complete hogwash, as Kemcha stated we need 300K to break even, we fall short more than 100k and the rate drops. So much for the article yesterday saying the rate was expected to go up...Total joke..
Re: Breaking News: Unemployment Rate Drops to 8.9%
I just have a hard time believing that 192k jobs lowered the unemployment rate. It takes over 300k to do that which makes this report highly dubious.

Re: Breaking News: Unemployment Rate Drops to 8.9%
Just wait. We are 2 years out from the peak of the layoffs. Millions more will be losing benefits in the next couple months. The rate will probably drop to 8.5% or less by June, with only 150K jobs per month creation.
