Unemployed again
I left a very high stress job in October 2012, it is credit card processing company. I spoke with business owners about their accounts everyday! I did the work for 2 people as the company has high turnover all the time. I quit, could not find a job, applied for UI, got it for 3 days.
During a checkup before I quit this job, I was told my blood pressure was high and I knew it was from the job. She wanted to give me meds, I said no. Once I quit, it went back to normal.
I found a 5 week holiday temp job which helped a lot. Then a staffing agency found me 3 1/2 month temp job.
I then applied at another company, was quickly hired within a few days, however, the job was not what I expected and my experience was far beyond what I would get paid for. The much younger work force (30 years and younger) was threatened by my extensive production, which meant they needed/could step up to the same level. Thus, I was not welcome there. I spoke with the manager and he understood, I told him I could handle it, but could not. The unwelcome stares, smugs, etc. So, I quit.
I applied for direct sales at the same company in November for temp holiday work. I'm not good at direct sales and they let me go Monday after 3 weeks.
So, I reopened my UI. Do you think they would hold it against me for quitting the job where I felt most unwelcome? Thanks!

Re: Unemployed again
first, welcome to the forum...
every state is slightly different, in Ohio where i am from if you quit a job and are denied you need to work at another job for at least six weeks (needing 20 weeks overall minimum)
Unemployment is supposed to give the benefit of the doubt to the worker, and you are allowed to quit a job with Justifiable reasons.
since those reasons vary state to state, check the state website for a detailed expanation.
also it probably depends on if the company contests
a decision, and you have so many different jobs.
i am not quite sure how it is determined WHO gets charged with paying your benefits, or if it is parceled out in fractions or what....but i am willing to bet that is a factor in the company challenging a decision
i would file and see what happens...good luck

Re: Unemployed again
Thanks for responding elvis44102.
I think I should be okay, as the credit card processor is the one paying out. My claim is still valid until late fall.
I never expected to be hopping around looking for a decent paying job as I worked 15 years at one job until they downsized and many people were let go. I made good money!
I just reopened my UI claim, and I barely used it because I found temp jobs. It's good to know jobs are out there, but temp and permanent are two entirely different things.
Life goes goes on.....
