Payment deposit delay due to Columbus Day holiday?
I have yet to receive my second UI benefits direct deposit payment for the weeks of 09/26/12 - 10/06/12. I sent my continued claim form (paper form) on 10/08/12 (Columbus Day).
When I received my first benefit payment for only one week, and not two weeks due to the one week waiting period; it was deposited into my EDD Debit Card account, on 09/26/12 (Wednesday).
I have not received anything including any notification of any problems from EDD, yet.
I called the 800 number to check payment status and it only states that I was paid for the 09/26/12 benefit payment (one week). A few moments ago I submitted a question on EDD's website, asking "Where is my payment?". The only thing different I changed on my last continued claim form, is that I checked off the box where it tells EDD to withhold CA Tax from my check.
Q: Has anyone experienced a delay or even have not received their UI benefit check/direct deposit payment, due to last weeks Columbus Day Holiday?
I anticipated to receive payments on a Wednesday, but since Monday was a Federal Holiday I expected it on either a Thursday or Friday!!
Please respond to this and thanks for any help/suggestions/experiences! Have a good Sunday~

Re: Payment deposit delay due to Columbus Day holiday?
I live in Ohio, I did all my UI claims and such electronically via the web, i believe the "delay" was only a day....that being said
you have a debit card and have gotten a claim payment already, so you know that that is all good....call them up if it will keep you from worrying.
I can say that Ohio has many different claim centers that process claims depending upon your soc sec number...
so even someone in your state with the same experience may go through a different center...(with of course ever-so-slightly different techniques)
However there is a delay by mail here as well if you mailed the form in....

Re: Payment deposit delay due to Columbus Day holiday?
Aside from calling UI, personally I would send in a duplicate tomorrow with a note attached explaining the problem.
Sounds like lost mail - not the postal service, oh no!
Seriously, use both barrels. Call and write/fax!

I would definitely be willing to send them a duplicate continue claimed form; if that's what you meant? How can I obtain another copy of the paper form?

Re: Payment deposit delay due to Columbus Day holiday?
I have submitted for a "replacement claim form" via EDD's website.
In addition I will attempt to submit a claim via EDD Tele-Cert.
We'll see how it pans out.
Thanks Elvis and Macky!
Edit: I registered and logged into EDD Web-Cert.
Does this mean or look like EDD has received my most recent continue claim form?
Here's a quick copy/paste of what it shows:
