Back to work part two.
After my second bout with unemployment since 09 I'm happy to report I'm back to work!
This time around was much shorter than the 2.5 yrs I was out last time.
I'm pretty excited about this opportunity it's a different field for me again but offers lots of flexibility. No boring office job and I make my own hours essentially. The pay is much better than my previous job and it's in a w2 this time around.
So moral of the story is not to give up, there is hope still.

Way 2 Go (NOT)Jobless_in_Ma thats so great. I am so excited that I slowly but surely see people on the boards that have been out of work for so long, getting back to working again...Myself included. Good Luck.

Thanks SS and MK. I'm excited for this new challenge. This will not effect the forum by any means, so no worries on that end. Ill let everyone know how things are going as well.
Re: Back to work part two.
I officially begin training this upcoming Sunday. Have a weeks long training down in Maryland. I'm nervous and excited.
Re: Back to work part two.
Good luck with the training, Jobless.
A warm welcome to Maryland!

Re: Back to work part two.
I am relieved and happy for you.
How did training go on Sunday? (living vicariously through you!)
I got a call today for a retail job (I know there is a hell, I worked in retail). At least it is in a field I am qualified to work in. OK overqualified. It will give me gas money if they hire me.
What it is like to be back around human life forms again? Is it an adjustment? Does it feel strange? Just curious. I almost forget how to interact on that level.

Re: Back to work part two.
I actually haven't started yet. I start this upcoming Sunday the 26th. Let you know how it goes.
Re: Back to work part two.
Hey Not_Jobless, that's great news. Congratulations!! As we both know, going back to work after a long layoff can be an adjustment, but after a while, sooner than you think, you'll be back in the groove, like me.
No worries about the weeks long training. That will get you on an equal footing with everyone else. The fun begins AFTER the training ends. I'm sure you'll be up for the challenge though.
Good Luck!!

Re: Back to work part two.
Thanks Jmain. I'm getting everything in order for the training. This company is like working for the Feds so much paperwork. Their biggest client us the federal government so it makes sense. Since home office is in MD and I'm in Ma thee has been a lot of FedEx overnight priority packages to and from. I better get used to it seeing as its an integral part of my job.
I hope to hear of more of us gettin back into the "working" world soon!
