US Added ~150,000 New Jobs In May: Surveys

The Labor Department will publish the May Jobs Report next Friday (6/1) at 8:30 a.m. Surveys conducted by the three major economic news agencies expect that the report will show that about 150,000 jobs were created.

May nonfarm payroll estimates:
Bloomberg News +148,000
Reuters +150,000
Dow Jones Newswires +150,000

The unemployment rate is forecast to stay at 8.1%.

Bloomberg's full jobs report preview is out this morning. They revised their forecast to +150,000.

The jobs report was an epic disaster. Only 69,000 jobs created with unemployment rising to 8.2%

Great article if, one can consider unemployment great. It shows some real truths. They still don't get the whole "looking for work" thing as being just a game played by people. If you are not collecting unemployment any longer, you are not counted among those actively looking for work. Those numbers are generated by those still collecting UE, as it is a condition in all States.
