Hiring slowed in March with ~210,000 jobs created: surveys
The Labor Department releases the March Jobs Report next Friday (4/6) at 8:30 a.m. Surveys carried out by the major financial news agencies expect that the economy added fewer jobs than in January and February - but over 200,000 for the fourth straight month:
Nonfarm Payroll Esimates (March):
Reuters +201,000
Dow Jones Newswires +210,000
The unemployment rate is expected to hold at 8.3%

The Bloomberg News survey is out this morning. They are forecasting a 205,000 rise in jobs for March:

On Good Morning America today they said the unemployment rate while dissapointing and only adding 200,000 jobs had lowered to 8.2%
I wish they would survey how many people that NO LONGER COLLECT UNEMPLOYMENT are still out of work. This is REALLY why the #'s keep dropping.

I believe the "official" job numbers were down graded to 140,000, with retail taking a hit. They also mentioned the 5 million who have given up!
I don't know anyone who has given up, do you? It's a BS was of saying "Exhaustees" AND there are more than 5 million of us!!

The other day Yahoo let go off like 500 people... Do they mention this? Doubtful...

The only thing this Exhaustee/99er has given up on is The U.S. Government! They seem to fail at just about everything. As for me...I fight to still look for work & hope that someday I will be one of the ones with a post that reads finally after 3 years of unemployment I am working again.

Yahoo is laying off 2,000 workers in CA. JC Penney is going to lay off about 500 in a Texas call center and even more in stores they will be closing. This should reflect in next month's job numbers.

Give me a freaking break!! Once you exhaust your UI benefits, you're no longer considered. What's worse, the BLS makes a few phone calls and that pool is where they capture their statistics!! Has anybody here been polled? No? I'm shocked. These numbers are so bogus it is pathetic - the United States uses these faux statistics the same way an indebted person does - to create a false impression of wealth. Independent groups have shown the true unemployment figure of 25% - when even most of the employed are contractors or part-time without benefits. Aren't you proud? Do so many really lack a work ethic?
