This is awful! Children come last in our society--children and seniors...

Publicity stunt, and why is this any surprise to anyone? This state is a prime example of Progressive governance and management.
This is what happens when one party's sole function is to be elected through the enticement of entitlements (I.E. people who didn't earn it voting themselves money from others or everyone else). This is a prime example of what the US could become if allowed to become anymore of an entitlement society.
We have seen the reality of the right these last 4 years, this is the reality of the left.

That's kind of ridiculous! All over the country teachers are being laid off and this is far from a "Publicity stunt."

I'd like to thank you for saving me the time of having to read conservative slanted websites. All I need to do to get their side of the issue is read your posts.
Anyway, the assault on education has been going on for quite awhile, with the idea being if they keep the population dumb, they won't be smart enough to know how badly they're getting screwed.

Exactly! Education is becoming a last priority when it should be the top priority and this is the case throughout all of the states!

I agree. The machine, unfortunately, does not.

Thank you, it’s always nice to disrupt the propaganda effort on here with the facts.
Your statement is utterly ridiculous; has anybody read the actual link?

People tend to use themselves as a baseline for neutrality. If someone is a moderate conservative, for example, they will tend to see a person who runs completely center as slightly liberal, and a moderate liberal as extremely liberal. They will see a moderate conservative as a center, and an extreme conservative as slightly more conservative than what their idea of center is. The opposite would be true for a moderate liberal.
What I am getting at is this: you think there is a "propaganda effort" going on here, when really all you're doing is taking moderate liberals and comparing them to your idea of center. It's an effect everyone should be aware of, and it's one of the major reasons why conservatives think there is an extreme liberal bias in media, and why liberals think just the opposite, when the reality likely is that some stations have mild slants but most of the damage comes from poor/no reporting on important issues from all sides of mainstream media.
One more thing: keep in mind conservatives aren't necessarily republicans, and liberals aren't necessarily democrats. Conservative/liberal is a general reflection of your opinion on certain political issues. Republican/Democrat is the machine set-up designed to keep us fighting each other over dumb shit.

This information has been in the news in California. I am a teacher and this is far from propaganda. It's very real and it's awful. It's very upsetting that someone on a forum would write obnoxious things when people's careers are being slashed like this!

I have to say that I think this is probably the best post I've read of yours.

Ok, is it teachers and education they're after OR are they getting rid of bad teachers. In NY Cuoma just signed something about teachers now having to pass an assessment of sorts to weed out bad teachers, those who are getting paid but not doing their jobs.

It's teachers in general...It's due to funds.
