Oh Boy~They've Reached An Agreement!
This chart is very helpful because the weeks are determined by the state's unemployment rate... Looks like some of the garbage requirements which the Republicans wanted have been left out though...

I'm surprised that no one has said anything about this... It's official that it has passed through the House and the Senate. All it needs is Obama's siggy...

Which one is 589?
I'm just frustrated that the weeks are being cut...

Sorry but hr589 is a ridiculously written notion and bill, is too weird to even think about, and we would do quite well to stop talking about the sucker.
It has diminished to a simple "buy a pencil?" handout.
We all deserve better. And HR589 is dead and done. STOP PLEASE!
Thanks.

HR 589 called for 14 weeks additional accross the board extension not contingient on any triggers..It is not a tier 5 as ANY exhaustees would have gotten the 14 weeks....
I will admit HR 589 does appear to be quite dead

Unfortunately, it is very dead as the direction that they have gone is to cut the weeks---not add them... I will be fortunate to get 99 weeks and I live in a state where the unemployment rate is second to the highest in the nation.

Re: Oh Boy~They've Reached An Agreement!
Hey friends, just wanted to say my anger at HR589 was not incited by any particular individual's comments, in case anyone felt that. I've detailed my thoughts in prior posts about a year ago.
In summary HR589, if ever it had been passed, was written like it was from a 4th grader. The extra weeks it would provide are to be added to tier 1, not an independent or "last" tier concept.
Think of the admin nightmare of figuring out the payments as some were on T1, some came off, some are working and wouldn't be eligible, etc. etc.
Anyways it's just a political bullshit item used by Barb at this point... probably always... and we should say "blow it out your snout" when the bait is thrown out from this point forwards.
It is just ignorant after so long to talk about a few month's worth of payment, even though it would indeed be great for everyone.
It's just not going to happen. It's just an insult to have to be treated like goof balls.
Okay, I'm done.

It's horrible, scary and an inhumane way to treat people with this economy still so bad to cut off people from their benefits--imo...
