Received Another 2 Rejections for Jobs Today
I like many am losing faith that I will get a job again. I interviewed for a job early December and received the email today that I am not getting it. I recently called the Unemployment office to see where I stood with my Extended benefits tier. Tier 2 exhausts this week so I am eligible for tier 3 (13 weeks) but I guess after that I will not be getting anything else. So much for Ohio's 99 weeks. I am actually confused about why they are cutting the extended benefits. If anyone out there can enlighten me on this I am all ears. I have never been unemployed for so long before. My job ended Oct 15, 2010. Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas. Praying things imporve for all of us.

Re: Received Another 2 Rejections for Jobs Today
Im so sorry to hear that guys
Irishmalou, at the moment it depends on what the UE rate is in your state. If it dips down to certain percent then they cut it off. Its a different percent for every tier.
Congress just passed the payroll tax cut and extended UI but they also will be cutting 20 weeks, so no more 99 weeks anywhere. This is just a temporary bill and they will be taking the matter up again but its uncertain as to what will happen.
Im so sorry for the rejections, especially right before xmas. Makes it hard to get in the spirit.
Im wishing for a christmas miracle for us all, hopefully the new year will be better. Please hang in there

Re: Received Another 2 Rejections for Jobs Today
I can relate. We will get jobs. I feel into a bit of a deeper depression last week related in part to jobs/lack of and some financial issues my friend are going through. It is so easy to slip and feel bad about all things.. but I am not gonna let that happen.
I think we do have every right and it is appropriate to feel down and concerned now and then but for me I know I have to shake myself and look towards the good. There seems to be something to be thankful for if I calm myself and get grounded. Things are not smooth for me, but I have morfe than adequate food and a roof over my head. I have what I need and trust that I will continuse to have my needs met.
I think anyone who has applied for hundreds of jobs, has been unemployed a year deserves some miracles. Blessings for us all in the new year.

Don't give up
I'm sorry about your job rejections. The same happened to me. One was for a position with Seminole County as a Juvenile Detention Officer. As I am a security officer and have experience as a former corrections officer in maximum security prison I thought I had a good chance. But the Captain mentioned during the interview that there were 'over 300 applicants' for 30 positions (he brought it up during the annoying 'why do you think you should get this job over others' line of questioning-I HATE that question btw). The other was for Hilton hotels. They called me twice, interviewed me a total of 3 times (the third was with the night manager which gave me hope) and in the end I received an email 'thank you for applying, blah-blah-blah'. It can be very disheartening but I try to count my blessings-good health (so far), my car hasn't been repoed (yet), my parents under whose roof I've been living since I lost my full time job corrections job with the state over 2 years ago. We have to go on and keep fighting-not give up!
Good luck to you, all of you and God Bless. I'll keep praying and lighting candles-for all of us.
