Too long. (June 08) Does anyone remember what money looks like? It's been ages since I've had any!

Somebody told me the paper money is green with George Washington's face on it. To tell you the truth, I don't really remember either!

Re: How long have you been unemployed?
This is scary when most who voted are at 2.5yrs +.... I remember when I started this poll at the Uf1.0 site and most were under a year. That was a long time ago as well...
Re: How long have you been unemployed?
Since June of 2008. God, I can't believe it's been that long.

April 2009. Nobody even calls anymore for interviews.
I wish companies would go back to paper applications that you could hand to them in person. When a job comes up online all of Michigan applies to it because of the requirements for unemployment benefits. If you are not the first 10 to get your resume sent then I am sure the rest get sent to the trash.

That is terrible. You are not a bum. People just don't understand how awful it really is.

They locked the doors that afternoon at 3pm, told us we were all laid off, then wanted us to spend an hour helping them clean up before we got our checks. Then they told us (this was on a Tuesday), that the checks were no good til Monday.
I took mine straight down to the Albertson's and cashed it

Thanks for all the feedback folks. This helps us get a better understanding of our community in more ways than you know.
Re: How long have you been unemployed?
Since June '08. Too damn long... at 54 years of age, I get a lot of "overqualified" responses(HR speak for too old).
