The silence is worse than the rejection...
Title sums it up nicely. I got a rejection today from an audio visual presentation company. It actually felt nice to be honest. I've gone two weeks now without hearing anything back. I was starting to think I wasn't worth even responding to. That everything I sent to an inbox got immediately put into a trashbox.
I guess some sort of contact is better than none. I've been struggling with feeling like a person recently with all the rejection. I'm guessing its just an echo though of how a lot of people currently feel.

Sorry for the bad news, AFT. But I know what you mean about feeling like nobody even looks at the stuff you send. I hope that the next word you receive is much better.

I take that as a positive sign too. One time I got a rejection letter for a job I applied to a year prior. Made me feel good because the postal system was obviously slow to deliver it.
Joking aside at least you feel you were in the running.

Being in the running is good I get tired of feeling like I'm in the wrong race.

Re: The silence is worse than the rejection...
I had a marathon interview just this week in Boston with six different people. The very last manager I met with was blunt and said in so many words that I wasn't a match, even though they liked me. The instant rejection was like a double-edged sword. Although I appreciated her honesty and that I wouldn't have to wait and wonder, I felt angry that I wasted my time and money.

AFT, this is the best description I have heard to date. You most certainly are not alone. Praying for you and all of us that we get some help and some good news soon.

Well I have an interview tomorrow. Waiting tables but it beats starving!
Film related I did some volunteer work yesterday and today to help get my name out there. Hope that helps too.

Marvelous! AFT, you're not just serving tables, you'll be exposed to potential employers eating. Good for you... Make it so!!
