Was unemployed but not anymore!
Well first off I just want to introduce myself im Jonny im 28 year old out of California. I have been unemployed for roughly two years now. I got into affiliate marketing right before I lost my job and so that has been helping a little bit but all in all it wasnt enough to keep me going. I moved back in with my parents and have been searching for jobs / creating websites / doing affiliate marketing with no success. Finally just a few days ago I logged into job.com searched around and I got lucky and found a position for a web designer at the community college about 15 minutes away. Long story short start hitting some of the different online job search engines and apply to anything you have some background in you might be surprised at the responses you get back! Good luck to all you job seekers out there and hopefully im not back here too soon! lol.

Re: Was unemployed but not anymore!
Thank you! I was so disseminated and depressed each and every day that I went without getting work. Its a very hard thing to deal with especially when you are actually out and looking for work! Having a background in web design I realized why not go online and look and sure enough I had a job. Hitting all of the online job programs and applying to multiple jobs might take some time but it is well worth the effort. Good luck to you all!

Re: Was unemployed but not anymore!
Hi Jonny, yes looking for and securing a job has more promise lately but as you said it's still a lot of work.
It's good that you are able to do web design. Hopefully .net and asp as well. One source I use for technical reference and continued learning is http://my.safaribooksonline.com/ Take the trial offer and check it out.
Also I feel if you get a jump on doing mobile "mobi" sites you'll have a definite niche.
Best of luck!

Re: Was unemployed but not anymore!
I do although I cant help but think it will be a somewhat temporary job so im still out looking for other work. Although this gig will help a lot. Thanks X you know I dont have a background in .net or asp I do know php / css and I tend to use drupal to build my sites. It makes things a lot easier than starting from scratch. I would love to go back to school but the gran I can qualify for it only 5.5k and I would need a lot more to get my degree. oh well
