Hooray for Gabby! I cant believe how well she has recovered in such a short time!! What an amazing woman.
WASHINGTON (AP) -- Emergency legislation to avoid an economy-rattling government default sped through the House Monday night, a scant day before the deadline for action - the dramatic vote made all the more memorable by Rep. Gabrielle Giffords' first appearance in Congress since suffering a head wound in a shooting six months ago.
The vote was 269-161, but all eyes were on Giffords, who drew thunderous applause as she walked into the House chamber and cast her vote in favor of the bill.
Hooray for Gabby! I cant believe how well she has recovered in such a short time!! What an amazing woman.

On twitter, someone said she was a ray of sunshine in a dismal house today. They were right! I am so happy to see her up and about and making her way back to congress!

We watched the vote and when they showed her in the crowd, it brought tears to my eyes! What a recovery she has made!

It sure does Desp. I cried. She looked great, but so tiny didn't she. I was amazed that she had the stamina to stay for the vote. They said she insisted she wanted to be there.
