I'm sitting here watching it. Jackson is sure a spitfire and a firebrand. It won't have no effect because Republicans all left the House floor when he started speaking.

He is his father's son -- I don't think he is going to let this go. He is going to be a thorn in their side.

This is the way it always is. Once one gets up to make a presentation and speech they all leave. Its all for the constituents, but at least its being bought up.

It may be but we cannot expect that it will pass if Republicans aren't going to listen to it. The way I see it? Republicans are needed to co-sponsor the bill. They aren't going to con-sponsor the bill if they aren't listening to these speeches.

That is one thing I will never understand about Congress. Why do they even bother to make floor speeches when the other side always walks out? How can they form an opinion or cast a vote for the people if they don't listen to both sides? It doesn't make sense and really shows that they are only there for their own political agenda, and not representing their constituents.

Some of those letters he read were right on. It's time that Congress started taking us seriously and there's only one way to do that ... PROTEST!!!

Rep Lee and Jackson need to stop toying with this bill and find some offsets and get it to the floor immediately. We cannot wait another two months for this.

Great speech by Jessie. Speaker of the House and other should read the Constitution, they should be fired for negligence of duty. When does the BS stop?

BINGO !!!! Offsets/compromise is the only way it will work. Running over one side or the other is not working. Question, why are there not more Dems on this bill? (589)

I have to admit that I was impressed by his speech. The letters he read expressed the American People's fed-up attitude with Congress and that some of the letters indicated that a reckoning is coming for Congress unless they wake up and start doing what the American People sent them there for in the first place.
Rep Jackson said it best. Congress does not create jobs. They pass bills that include incentives for businesses to create jobs. Congress needs to concentrate "ONLY" on passing unemployment benefits for every unemployed American and then concentrate all of their efforts at creating incentives for businesses to create jobs.
Only when businesses start getting hit with penalties will they start taking job creation seriously. They should only receive tax incentives when job creation in the United States is greater than the jobs they are creating overseas.
