Unemployed homeowners who've fallen slightly behind or are at risk of falling behind on their mortgage payments soon may be eligible for a 12-month forbearance period during which their monthly payments are reduced or suspended. Currently, jobless homeowners receiving unemployment benefits are eligible for just three or four months of forbearance
Watch the GOP vote this down.

I am sure they will. However, it isn't fair. What about the people who have already been forced out of their homes and are renting? We get NO help at all! Getthem, you've known me for a while and I don't say this lightly, but Mitt Romney is looking better and better everyday.gettheminNOVEMBER wrote:http://www.dailykos.com/story/2011/07/08/992515/-Obama-administration-announces-policy-to-help-unemployed-homeowners-facing foreclosure?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+dailykos%2Findex+%28Daily+Kos%29&utm_content=Twitter

I wish a strong progressive would challenge Obama. I am not a huge fan of him either but I won't let the GOP slide from blame too. Just imagine if 82 of the repubs Co signed the 99er bill too. Seeing a bll that has support from both sides would get his attention.

I am definitely not fond of the GOP and I do blame them for the mess we are in. They have blocked everything! But, the President's speech in the Rose Garden this morning was more than a disappointment - it was devastating. With job numbers like the ones that came out today, how dare he say "let's get the debt ceiling done first so the market will be stable"! Our lives have been nothing but instability for over three years now and all he and others talk about is "job creation". It has gone beyond creating jobs now - they should have started that three years ago. We need help now. What is going to happen on December 31 if the number keep going like this? They will, I'm sure with reports like this consumer confidence is going to sink even lower. What is going to happen to the people who have only 20 weeks of unemployment? I am almost at 200 weeks and still nothing!gettheminNOVEMBER wrote:I wish a strong progressive would challenge Obama. I am not a huge fan of him either but I won't let the GOP slide from blame too. Obama does know how to blow smoke up our butts huh? The way things are going the national unemployment rate will be 10% and the number of 99ers will be 10 MILLION
This is what the GOP wants so they can use it against him in 2012 and I don't see him stopping them.

Re: Obama administration announces policy to help unemployed homeowners facing foreclosure
Ma had been advertising this on their DOL website for a while, then pulled back on it. IMHO its a day late and a dollar short. Had I been given a year I would of been able to keep it possibly..But probably not, I am working but certainly couldn't afford my Mortgage on it.
