I GOT THE JOB!!!

First topic message reminder :

Its at a nursing home for what they call "direct care". Its only 16 hours per week but Ill take it if they'll give it to me!! Its also right up the street from my house. the hours are sat. and sun. 7-3 and every other weekend is 3-11!! I really hope I get it, its what I want to do. Not sure what pay they are offering yet, usually around here its at least 10 an hour for that type of job.

A lot of times, they like to break people in on a day shift- get them oriented and viewed by mgrs (day shifters). I bet your hours pick up very quickly.

That's funny- my mother started out Catholic, and became a devout Atheist. My oldest sister (even as a child) and her husband are very Christian/church going people. By the time I turned 9, they gave up on me; my sister gave me a book by Sybil Leek. It's been my path since.

Thats funny!! One time I was helping an elderly and extremely combative patient pull her pants down to sit on the toilet. I had my hair up in a scrunchy. When I bent over to pull the pants down she grabbed 2 fist fulls of the pony tail and was twisting and twisting with all of her might!!! I seriously thought by the time she was done I would be bald!!

So there I am, bent over with her ripping the hair out of my head while spinning me around in circles...the nurses thought it was funny and didnt come to my aid right away because they were too busy laughing LOL

I didnt think it was funny at the time but I roar about it now!! It was quite comical. I never thought of that scenario before it happened, I just thought I didnt want my hair to end up in someones pee or poo!!

Old age do not go gentle !LOL! People don't realize just how feisty they can be. My favorite guy from all times was an alzheimer patient-(this wasn't the group home from hell- this actually was a decent place, with too few hours). He used to line up his stuffed animals and attack anyone who went near them with his walker. He did have a sweet side, though.
