why did my last ui check say this ?
you have recieved all the extended benifits you are entitled to, and no further extentions are in effect at this time , IF UNEMPLOYED, YOU MAY BE ENTITLED TO FILE A NEW CLAIM. CALL YOUR UNEMPLOYMENT INSURANCE OFFICE OR VISIT OUR WEBSITE ?

Re: why did my last ui check say this ?
I got a similar message when I filed my last claim over a year ago.
I guess if you worked on a temporary basis and made a certain amount, you were eligible for a new claim.
I tried to refile, filled out all the information, got to the question that asked "have you earned $548 in wages in the past quarter" and when I answered "no" I couldn't go any further.

I think that day is coming sooner than you think. It isn't only the unemployed that are fed up - the dissatisfaction with the way our government is run is going viral!

Somethings gotta give! I dont think they will be able to get away with ignoring us much longer. There are too many of us now. Hoping that since the GOP backed out of presenting HR 1745, maybe they will have a change of heart. (wishful thinking lol) We just have to be relentless and not give up. Keep making noise.

Definately have to agree that something will have to eventually give within the next month or two, either in June or in July, with the vast amounts of soon to be exhaustees. I bill will have to be in the works and making to include an additional tier of emergency assistance combines with some type of education or hiring (employer/employee) incentive. Their were 5 total extensions back in '82, (last one in '83 for long term unemp.), and this recession is even worse than that just based on sheer numbers , the economy, consumer spending, and total amount of unemployed all at once from end of '07/early '08.

Re: why did my last ui check say this ?
I believe the most extensions ever given were in the mid-70's. They weren't consecutive though. The total amount of weeks of unemployment were 138. During that time, they implemented CETA. IMO, that is what got us out of that mess back then.
We definitely need a program like that back today. We all want to go back to work - we don't like sitting around collecting benefits and scouring the internet and want-ads for jobs - WE WANT OUR LIFE BACK!

Re: why did my last ui check say this ?
that could very well be indeed right, I was just basing on couple people at state level at job and family services that had been involved with UI agency for 29 and 30 years in what they had told me on national level, but then again they wouldn't have been working at that time there at the mid 70's mark.
