And, still more people are getting laid off
http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/2011-05-17-unemployment-economy-benefits_n.htm
Everyday the school districts and other agencies are putting folks out due to State budgets. What is going to become of all of us? As we all know, this is a major crisis, and I don't give a s hit what anyone says, this is not going away. Fairly soon, they won't be able to keep sticking their heads in the sand.

Re: And, still more people are getting laid off
This is the problem these days, the GOP state legislatures are slashing their budgets so bad that states are laying off people. They are laying off LOT'S of people. Here in NC the new republican budget will cost 21,000 teacher jobs in just k-12 alone. There are many more in the prison system and in college education. This has nothing to do with the economy but it will kill the economy, and any recovery, with all these people losing jobs.
There really isn't that much of a budget crisis like the GOP claims but the GOP is causing a budget crisis by causing all of these layoffs. They are creating the problem that they claim they want to fix.

The state governments are going into austerity mode. They are attempting to recover revenue by adding all sorts of new taxes, increasing existing taxes and making lots of cut backs. This will end up costing people jobs and their lifestyles. They will have to collectivize into housing and beg for food and shelter.
What I'm worried about is these people eventually becoming violent, revengeful and angry and lashing out at the world though crime. In some ways it's understandable -- but it will also create lots of innocent victims.
Some people claim that a new massive depression is brewing. I believe their analysis is somewhat correct but what will be un-predicable is when or how bad.

Funny that of all the good news about 244,000 new jobs but I heard today on several networks about new home market is dropping bad and also that consumer confidence is way down and mostly all the networks commented how bad unemployment still is and how difficult it is to find jobs.. Maybe 589 will get some attention!!!

Combine all of the above, add the additional 99ers and the states that are cutting unemployment benefits and our numbers are growing hourly. It will be tough to ignore.
