Why We Must Raise Taxes on the Rich, ASAP!
It’s tax time. It’s also a time when right-wing Republicans are setting the agenda for massive spending cuts that will hurt most Americans.
Here’s the truth: The only way America can reduce the long-term budget deficit, maintain vital services, protect Social Security and Medicare, invest more in education and infrastructure, and not raise taxes on the working middle class is by raising taxes on the super rich.

As you can tell from his actions, Obama isn't going to do it. Of course, the repubs will never do it. Good time to be rich-bad time to be poor. What a myth that a rising tide raises all boats! Trickle down economics is a zombie economics fantasy that needs to be put down once and for all.

Watch out for the fires and floods. Also, their government went conservative about 10 years ago and they tried some of the things our repubs are trying.gettheminNOVEMBER wrote:They want to bend over every American and when we are used up they will bend each other over THEY ALL SUCK I HATE THIS POS COUNTRY!

Petition to demand Congress tax the rich. If we don't do anything, the rich will keep benefitting from the cuts.
Please sign the petition and pass it along to friends and family.

Question
My intent is to be respectful of all others but i have to ask this question. Why does everyone feel the need to raise taxes on the so called rich instead of decreasing the spending? I am looking to understand a point of view other than my own, please no insults. I am seriously curios.
I understand people are without jobs; however is this not due to outsourcing to Mexico and other foreign counties?
I understand that people are used to Medicare, Medicade and social security; but these are not rights under our constitution. I do not advocate for them to be cut by the way.
With all of the social spending I don’t see how we can continue to pay the bill. A loss of jobs means a loss in tax revenue, loss in tax revenue means less money to spend.
I know the military (I highly support) spends a ton, but what about the subsidies that are paid to other countries like Afghanistan, Africa, Israel, and Saudi Arabia. Should we not demand that they be cut off first?
Should we not demand to be reimbursed for the use of our military?
When this country first started we left because of religious freedom and high taxes, do you not think that will happen again?
I own my own business, we do about 800k a year. After I pay unemployment, liability insurance, FICA, business license, workmans comp, accounting, legal, and personal taxes, I get to keep .15 per dollar. Now if you looked at our earnings you would see we did 800k and I must be rich, but I am not.
What is wrong with everyone paying 20% or letting the states handle everything minus the millitary, interstates, and national security. is that not what our original constitution says. I hate paying taxes on things i do not benifit from.
like i said i am looking for someone (in a nice way) to enlighten me to other thoughts not bash me for mine.

I bet there would be a job for you if our govt. would stop allowing illegals into this country, and stop companies from saying "we can't find qualified workers so we have to hire from India". BS, employ CITIZENS of this country FIRST.

i agree. why do we give Brazil two billion to drill for oil but will not do it in our own land. think if all the people out of work in the gulf oil business, why, so my cost of business can go higher, i could hire two people for the increase in fuel alone. the sad thing is we need two more people on staff to handel the work load, I literally can not afford to add them.

Too many people and companies hire illegals as slave labor! That's what our future may be!
