Re: stand with Warren Buffett and demand higher taxes on the rich
Are you aware that the richest 20% of Americans already pay for well over half of the taxes, and that about half of the people in this country pay no Federal income tax at all? And those same 20% are the ones providing the vast majority of the jobs.

What jobs? Oh, you're talking about the ones they provide to foreign countries.

We are talking about the top 2 percent paying 4 percent more. The clinton levels where the top 2 % paid 39% in taxes not 35 as they do now. They can afford it.

Whatever they pay is the least they can do since the majority of the wealth stays at the very top and just doesn't seem to trickle down.............
The rich can ride this storm and survive. I CAN'T,

Re: stand with Warren Buffett and demand higher taxes on the rich
There are two kinds of rich people: the productive rich and the parasitical rich. The productive rich comprise the vast majority of the rich, and they are the people we depend upon - they are the heroes. These are the super-producers of society, creating most of the wealth and providing most of the jobs. Steve Jobs would be a good example.
The parasitical rich are the Ruling Elites who suck value from others via political manipulation and other forms of misdeeds. They are the top 0.1%. The CEO of Goldman Sachs would be a good example.
We need to be careful not to overburden the productive rich. They are the strong horses pulling the wagon, in which the unproductive ride. If you overtax and over-regulate them, they will "shrug" and leave the game. If too many of them leave, the wagon will stop.
The parasitical rich are the true enemies, but as long as we keep voting criminals into office (Obama, Bush, Clinton, Bush, etc.), then they will continue to enslave us. Yet these are the people that most on this forum are hoping will save them. The fact is they are sociopaths who care nothing about us.
"They can afford it."
"The rich can ride this storm and survive. I CAN'T"
Isn't that another way of saying, "From each according to his ability; to each according to his needs"? Collectivism sounds great on paper, but in real life it almost always ends in disaster.
