Twitter is a valuable asset for receiving and giving information. Many of us have opened accounts to further our advocacy and it has proven to be beneficial.

Roy@Balkingpoints and Helpthe99ers.com have started the TAC (twitter action committee). TAC members look for the hashtag #TAC99er in tweets and simply ReTweet the message.

To join the TAC you must first register here:

After you register you can add your name to the TAC list to start receiving your weekly rounds of targets here:

As some of you may already know, 99erAid has been holding weekly chats on twitter which have also proven to be very beneficial to the cause. Opening a Twitter account would allow you to join the conversation and help spread the word.

I will be adding more information to this thread in the coming days in order to help those that are not accustomed to Twitter. In the mean time if any one has any questions about how to get started please feel free to post them here.

If any one has anything to add please feel free to do so!!

Twitter is FREE! It is the fasted from of communication on the social media network. The chance of getting a "virus" is slim to none. Just make sure you keep updating your anti-virus software.

Go to www.twitter.com and sign up! There is also a tutorial there to help you get going.

Leave your Twitter user name here, and we will tweet it on Follow Friday - a Twitter event that will help you increase your following!

The new Twitter Action Committee process centers around the Twitter hash topic #TAC99er

Example:

#TAC99er @markos ; new Help site online for jobless '99ers, req RT and/or mention. Unemployed must be made visible > http://helpthe99ers.com

Any of us can start a message in that format to a media person (or Senator, etc) of our choosing. When the rest of us see the tweet you've sent (we are mostly linked up already as following/followers), we just click "Retweet".

Just load the tweet box with the @ recipient you want to reach at that moment. (If you send multiple tweets back to back, it's best for Twitter's filters, to alter the text in each one). Always suffix with http://helpthe99ers.com or a related "99ers site URL

By using the # in front of TAC99er, that appends the tweet to a hash topic - meaning you can paste #TAC99er in the Twitter search box at top, and all the recent TAC tweets from any of us will come up. Then just RT from there if you didn't see it come across when it was sent.

Add in the #99ers hash in the message, or #jobs, #news, #economy, etc. – and others can catch on as well.
