"Not Paid" Status
I'm hoping someone here can shed some light on this. I have tried to call the Unemployment office but can't ever get through on the phone. I just filed my weekly claim and the status is listed as "not paid". Does this mean my claim is denied? Being processed? I have not received a letter of either approval or denial yet, only the letter stating the amount I'm entitled to.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Re: "Not Paid" Status
If you are getting the recorded "claim not paid" message, it can mean several things unfortunately. You could be up for a review, claim could be in process of being paid and is not yet paid, or they could have mailed it back for further info.
Unfortunately, only you can answer the questions needed, are you near or at the time you would go on to one of the Tiers, EB? It varies by state, but sometimes they will contact you prior to doing this, if you state still falls in the proper trigger%. At times the states will do a "review" and basically, it's an interview, usually by phone, to see if all the information is still current.
The best advice we can give you is to keep calling, annoying as it is, but it's your money, so I would hound them until I got an answer. Today, the phones will be insane, so maybe wait until tomorrow to save yourself the headache of eternal hold.
Sorry I don't have more definite information for you. Please let us know how you make out.
