Claim Expiring 2-weeks into Tier II? Empty Claim Expiring 2-weeks into Tier II?

Post by anastasia_0013 Thu Jun 21, 2012 11:52 am

Hi All,

I'm new here so I'm sorry if this has been asked and answered but I wasn't able to figure this out from searching so I'm hoping something might be able to help.

I was processed for a 13-week Tier II extension last week. Those benefits came through without a problem and I logged into file this morning and received a message that my claim would expire on July 7th. My layoff date was July 12th so it hasn't even been a full year for me yet. I e-mailed them but am not hopeful that I'll get a useful response so does anyone know what this means for me? I have a interstate claim as I had to relocate to NC in order to make ends meet for now, and have been earning $200/week here as a 1099 employee (this is not enough to impact my weekly benefit amount.)

I don't know whether to anticipate that I wont receive any more benefits at all, or that my benefits will be reduced, or if I will just be reprocessed and finish up my 13-week extension and then be done since other Tiers will have triggered off at that point. Anyone have any input? Thanks so so much for any help!

You may have to recertify because of the 1 yr mark. I would call them ASAP and find out. I know it's a dreaded phone call, it takes forever to get through in some states, but it's worth it to get a jump on it if you can.

It sounds like your BYE date is up and you need to refile. Typically, this would be no problem, however, with all the recent cutbacks now taking effect, I I would call the unemployment office in the state you receive benefits from as soon as possible,
