Hello All,

I have just exhausted all of my Unemployment (about 93 weeks) and I've been told by New York State Unemployment that that's that and they can no longer be of any assistance to me.

Now I'm on my own and I'm wondering about applying for Food Stamps and any other help I can get. I've been on *moderated - link questionable - admin X* and done the math and they tell me that I maybe legible for something.

What are other peoples experience's of claiming?

Any advice would be great

Apply for SNAP immediately. If you meet the requirements (pretty easy when you've exhausted all your benefits), you will receive food assistance. Again, DON'T WAIT!!

I am about to receive my final unemployment check, since the FED-ED is going to end on May 12. I have a substantial amount of money in stocks...will that prevent me from being eligible for SNAP? Will they be able to verify how much assets I have?

Yes, they can verify. You are allowed to have a certain amount of assets in order to qualify for SNAP, call Social Services in your area. Not to disclose is considered fraud.
