President Obama and Congress have failed the unemployed.
Maybe this should also read that "Big business has failed the unemployed..."

I didn't know Obama was on the board of directors of all the companies outsourcing our jobs. Very prolific man that Obama must be.

I've been an Obama supporter and probably will vote for him again, but think that he could have done a better job with the bill for the unemployed which relies on the UI rate. This is tenuous at best since the rate can go up and down again so to have one's unemployment cut off because of this should NOT have been the way to go...

Thanks Maraian for posting...
the part about "5.3 million unemployed for more than six months" is emotional for me.
A portion of this has to be put with Obama... he is the president. But, the lack of pointing to the corporate america and the way business school teahes managers to be so lean and mean will continue to destroy our country. If the general population cannot afford anything it is hard to recover the economy.
I think kindness.. and just caring enough to treat people like human beings could do so much.

It saddened me that you see quick action from our congressional leaders when corporations speak. Look how fast they backtracked during the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA). Make no mistake, corporations yielded their power and acted like they were protecting our interests. We don't see that kind of action for the middle class, the unemployed, or the poor.
