Re: State of The Union
I think his speech was great and he has every intention of being genuine in what he says. The person sitting behind him with the orange face and his cronies block everything this President attempts to do for the average American.
I just hope he keeps the same "won't back down" attitude he displayed last night. NO MORE CAVING!!
By the way, his speech also made the GOP presidential candidates look like the fools they are!

Obama strikes me as a strong person who nonetheless is overly concerned about re-election. I think it's fair for him to be concerned, though, because it's clear they want him to be a one-term president and are doing everything in their power to facilitate that desire.
I'm voting for him again under the assumption that he will do much more in his second term because there can't be a third term to try to take away from him. If I'm wrong, oh well at least we didn't have a republican president.

Re: State of The Union
My hope after last night is that Obama does not back down and keeps fighting to get Congress rolling again. However, while listening to Our President speak I was watching Boehner what jerk he is. Not that that comment would be news! Good Luck to all of us who remain unemployed and just hanging on by a thin thread!!!

Re: State of The Union
His facts btw have all been proven to be correct. There is a company that check all presidential claims.
His approval ratings just went through the roof after last night something like 80% of the country that includes republicans.
Now question is, will he actually do the things that he spoke of last night.
It's pretty clear to me that Mittens is not an option for us. No business man has ever been a president of the united states. Regan, the prize of the republican party was one of those union thugs they like to beat up. He was in fact the leader of the screen actors guild, among other unions.
Hopefully Obama will do what he preaches. Although the country's recovery is slow going, it is better than it was three years ago. Nobody claimed it would be a quick turn around. We're all in it for the long haul.

Re: State of The Union
President Obama cannot do it alone! He needs our backing and he damn well needs it now.
The last 3 years and someone has a question?
JUST DO IT! FOR OUR COUNTRY!

I'm voting for him because he is the only guy running that isn't a circus act and (IMO) is honest and has at the very least a clue with regards to the UE and Healthcare; everything else is just the typical political BS.

We need to call off this election, kick the no op politicians in their behind, and get them working with us or bulldoze them over.

I actually was very impressed and think that if given another term, Obama can make a difference. He has amazing ideas--if the congress would get out of his way and allow him to do these things!

yes it was a very good speech, and the comentator i watched refered to the non-clapping party as the "disloyal opposition" which after all this time it most assuredly has shown itself to be.....
The other networks form the right would not add this astute observation
just how much "give me my way or nothing the country can take is unfortunately being found out....

Re: State of The Union
Exactly! Joe Biden gave a really good talk the other day about this as well. He made a point of saying how Boehner had said that he would not "Compromise" and how the American people saw this in action with how the Congress handled the Payroll Tax Bill, etc., and are not happy with Congress for this reason. America is built on working together which is "Compromise." Boehner needs to be removed from his seat...
