Unsure if 2 month extension applies to me
Hello again. I am from PA. I have been unemployed since March 2010. I have been collecting since then. I just finished my 7th week of the extension which ran until week ending December 31st. UC has sent me forms to continue filing for benefits. I am unsure, as my claim states I am at 0.00 remaining balance, whether I will collect any further benefits from the extension that is supposed to be in place until the end of February. Anyone?

I am pretty sure your balance says zero at the end of a tier. It happened to my husband, (hes a 99er now) we panicked but when he moved onto a new tier the balance was replenished. Everyone's claim is different though, be sure to call them just to be sure. Good luck!

when the banks bought mortages, in quantity it seems many times the original paperwork was lost. seach on produce the mortage for some possibly effective stratigies....i am sure the laws vary slightly by state..

Yes, dmbishop...ask them to produce the original note. They may not have ownership. Do you recall if your mortgage has been sold? If it was you would of gotten notice in the mail. Chances are it was and there is a very good chance the mortgage co that is foreclosing on you does not own it. If thats the case they cant foreclose.
Your rights as a home owner varies depending on what state you live in. Here in massachusetts, we have basically NONE. But other states you get your day in court and the process can take months possibly more than a year. It also makes a difference if you have a government backed loan or a private loan...if you have a gov. backed loan it takes longer to foreclose and you have many more options to save your home. If its private then options are limited. I had a private mortgage and had no options. I was told there was nothing anyone could do until AFTER it was foreclosed (which really makes no sense.)
What you could do is call a real estate lawyer and ask for a free consultation. They should be able to tell you your options in that visit. it cant hurt.
Im sorry you have to go through this. Maybe someone else here has some more info or even a number to an advocacy group that can guide you.

Re: Unsure if 2 month extension applies to me
I just heard someone talking about this very issue on a talk radio show. A caller to the show said something about how homeowners can send a certified letter to the bank, asking who owns the title to their property, and also requesting the chain of title.
From what I understand (and I know nothing about this stuff), if the bank cannot produce this documentation, the property is investor owned, and the bank cannot foreclose on the property (the investors have to do it???). I don't know if this applies to all states, all states, except the commonwealths, or what.
I think it's worth a try. In the meantime, I would seek the advice of a real estate attorney, or other appropriate expert who can give you some ideas of how to handle your situation.
Good luck!

There was a scandle (fraud, on top of fraud) about a year ago as quite a few lower level employees got caught falseifying Notarized signatures and such to correct this discrepency....funny how that hasent made any news shows of late...

Re: Unsure if 2 month extension applies to me
Its amazing what these people get away with. I remember asking the woman at the mortgage co. that foreclosed on us how she can sleep at night. She came right out and admitted to me that she lied about us having a 30 extension. I wish I had recorded the convo. It was a horrible experience that I would never wish on even my worst enemy. I wish I knew then what I know now. We never gave it a thought that they may not even hold the title.
dmbishop, I would take LRS advice and contact an attorney. It may be worth your while. I will pray for you, good luck! I know a lot of the laws have changed since I was in foreclosure back in 2008. Homeowners in Mass for instance have more rights now. I will try to search for some phone numbers of advocacy agencies, it may help.
