A burst of hiring in December pushed the unemployment rate to its lowest level in nearly three years, giving the economy a boost at the end of 2011.

The Labor Department said Friday that employers added a net 200,000 jobs last month and the unemployment rate fell to 8.5 percent, the lowest since February 2009. The rate has dropped for four straight months.

The hiring gains cap a six-month stretch in which the economy generated 100,000 jobs or more in each month. That hasn't happened since April 2006.

It is shameful how those around him will say or do anything now to get him re-elected (can you say desperate).

So now let’s make lemonade out of lemons, this BS gives the majority of American's the idea that there is no UE problem hoping the 99ers will be forgotten (until election day at least) and that they are just complaining.

All the above from a media desperate to get him re-elected and a party willing to say or do anything; a pox on both their houses.

As for the Repubs, they certainly are not standing up and pointing this out either so they are just as culpable.
